It'll be interesting to see if SCOTUS overrules Kennedy.
The dissent had Alito, Thomas, and Roberts. So they would just need 2 of ACB, Kav, and Gorsuch to overturn it. I could also see Roberts flipping for appearance purposes to not overturn a less than 20 year old precedent.

That law has been on Louisiana's books for decades, the Supreme Court said we can't enforce it.

Correct. Since she became Governor with less than two years left in Bentley’s term, she was still able to run for two terms of her own.
