So Ohio state, Michigan, USC, UCLA ect, none of those guys talk football until August?

People in California definitely don't. The national media doesn't.

I find it absolutely disrespectful and in extremely poor taste to the individual and the fan base.

Let a guy who committed to at least 3 years of college ball play out his college career just as everyone else. They may actually love playing for their university and chasing championships.

I agree it's poor taste to do it during the season. It's like trying to dampen our season as a fan base..

Let us enjoy it.. It's absurd that they talk about this crap now.. how about first of all let the man finish a season first..

Toughen up. It's a gigantic complement to one of our players.

The mentality of an elite athlete is to get paid to play a sport. When you were a kid you want to be a PROFESSIONAL football, baseball, basketball player.

They have a valid point. Rbs have a very short shelf life so you want to get to the nfl as quick as possible.
They also have a valid point about LF getting injured before he can go pro.

I don't think LF should sit out next year at all but I do see where they are coming from.

I dunno man, I would play football and basketball every day after school when I was little, and money wasn't what I imagined (although, to be fair, I didn't acheive it either ). I just wanted to make awesome plays

These guys make a living flapping their gums 24/7. They have to find something to talk about. What is irritating is that it is New York media, generally, that know dick about college football.

I realize that but the dream was to be so gold at a sport, you got paid to play it. Being so good at a sport that you get paid to play it,is the highest achievement for a boy or girl that's dreaming to become a professional athlete.

This comes with the territory when you have talent like this kid #1 player in HS, probably the best player in college right now. ITS OKAY for the chatter about Fournette, we get even more exposure for LSU, I have no problem with it.

The KID can't go to the NFL anyways... so chill and enjoy and be thankful you are witnessing the best and he is on our team..

I see the point, but honestly- notoriety was what I wanted; to be seen as "the guy". The first guy picked in pickup games... I think that translates to wanting to be seen as the top recruit in 247 etc, then the first round pick, then the pro bowl etc.

I think that's the way Fournette sees it; he did the Heisman pose last year because he wanted be "that guy", the superstar.

I honestly don't know that "a superstar" could tolerate sitting out; some guys give agents hell to get back on the field. This wouldn't even be like a long contract negotiation, it would be a year-long withdrawal from the thing he does best, and is getting praised for doing it maybe better than anyone around. What would he do, sit at a gym with a personal trainer all year? That would drive him nuts. This kid wants to hear the crowd cheering him!

Here's what's stupid about this argument. The type of career ending Marcus Lattimore type injuries these pussy media types are saying LF should sit out to avoid are extremely rare (so much so that Lattimore is the only one I could think of). Secondly, ask Todd Gurley how badly being injured at the draft hurt his draft stock. He was still taken in the first round and he just played in his first NFL game, preseason or otherwise, last Saturday and he still wasn't 100%.
