McNeese exhibition

Well it was an interesting game. The atmosphere was more like a tournament game than an exhibition so that was pretty cool. The bottom line is if we don’t get Dessert and Niang and hopefully Luis eligible it will be a long season. We don’t really have great 3 point shooters and Ruzic was the only big to really play but he is a little soft and missed at least 8 FT in a row. Diabute was most of the offense in the first half taking it to the hole. I like the way he plays. They ended up winning 63-60 and you could tell McNeese really wanted the win. Flip side is McNeese players have been work together longer and know each other. LSU is a Work in progress . Hopefully they get everyone eligible and continue to improve. FT shooting was terrible most of the game. That is something they need to work on.And we need better 3 point shooting. On to the next exhibition game.

It was a first game exhibition. You can't take anything from it. You say we dont have great 3pt shooters - Bashir shot over 44% from 3 last season shooting over 8 3s a game. He just had a bad night.

Well considering it was the 1st game by all new players without their best players they competed great.But yeah potential lack of talent could make it a long season.

Off night shooting from 3 but overall shooting was similar to McNeese who was in their home gym. FT shooting much better second half. Need to add other pieces and we will be good. To beat a potential tournament team on the road with half our team is a solid start

My thoughts about 3 pt shooting is they had opportunities and didn’t take them. We’ll see how that goes as the season progresses. Ugo was their best shooter tonight and Diabute was their best scorer but he got tired and started cramping and didn’t do much in 2nd half

Two foreign players were basically cleared but Wade was hesitant until all i’s are dotted and t’s crossed. A third player needed another document which was sent in. I see foreign players slowly being cleared at other SEC teams; the ones we are talking about were recruited by other SEC schools.
We know the NCAA won’t clear Luis but he has a TRO at present from a judge. I think we get 4 more cleared this week.
That would leave Luis- there is debate among LSU fans if he should be cleared but I say go for it!!!!

It was actually much better in the second half. And really good in the last minute of the game.

He’s going to trash anything positive, he won’t be the only one this year.
We shot 85% from the FT in the second half, and he said we were terrible from the FT all game.
