YES! AGREED! Why didn't we just do this??? frick Woody, would've been the most cost-effective but Woody's ego had to get in the way...a-hole, LSU hater

Should have used Monopoly money instead to pay this FRAUD.... this dude robbed LSU of MILLIONS of dollars and now displays the IDGAF attitude towards LSU basketball.. I think he wants to get fired to get away from the bonfire he’s created the last 3years.. he figures WTF I get paid regardless.. but I’m sure FAT Woody will stick with him next year to feel like he got something out of this old clunker…

Murray St blows now and they probably want him back as much as (sane and actual) LSU fan wants him back. It would benefit McMahon to get fired and cash out before going back to MSU.
Woodward should reach out to Murray State’s AD and offer to trade him there for a few basketballs and an agreement to pay 40% of his remaining contract. Murray St gets him for the remainder of his LSU contract (with LSU paying 40% of the salary). LSU moves on, only having to pay what would be a % of his buyout.

How long is his contract again?

Nobody wanted this job. Hired him knowing in 4 years we’d be shopping again, and hoped he’d stabilize the program. He’ll be paid off after the season.
This is not true.

You people are so dense. There is no such thing as a damned "place holder". No AD is going to intentionally mortgage any seasons.
And why would you give a so-called "place-holder" a 7 year deal?

You don’t give a placeholder a 7 year contract lmao. Horrible post.
He made a huge mistake firing Wade and an even bigger mistake hiring McMuffin…
A placeholder woukd have been hiring some disgraced coach that no one wants to hire for cheap or a no name assistant.

The sin was not the initial hire

You don't give a placeholder a 7 (now 8) year contract. This is either a troll or a clueless post.

The money wasn’t outrageous. He was in the middle of the pack of the 6 new SEC coaches hired that season. Even now he’s near the bottom of the league in pay. The length was probably a year too long, but LSU didn’t have a ton of bargaining leverage at that time.
I think when he was hired LSU/Woodward, internally, felt he would get at least 4 years. But things have changed. No one expected it to be this bad in a sport where rebuilding can occur in literally one offseason.
He’s getting fired. The only question is if that is this year or next.
