So Wade took over after we finished with the worst conference record in history correct? He went and signed tremont from Conn and built a competitive team that never lost by 40 points and made the post season in his first year…. Then won the SEC in his second year and made the NCAA every year after and finished top
4 in the SEC. LSU fans got a glimpse of success, got greedy lol, and now they are put back to
Realization of how LSU bball should look. Be careful what u wish for lol

He lost by 39 to Notre Dame in his 5th game 92-53.

He also lost by 30 to Alabama last year at home with a significantly more talented roster.

Wade's results are a high hurdle to beat. I will judge McMahon's results vs. Wade after 5 years are complete. Doing otherwise is a waste of time IMO.

At this time, the LSU men's basketball team is not an exciting product. At least I have the women's team and the Pels to get excited about for now.

The men's LSU team doesn't look even remotely close to a NCAA tournament team at this point. I am not even sure they will make the NIT.

In a perfect world for LSU Sports,

1. LSU basketball makes the tourney this year
2. McMahon is COY
3. Garrett Nussmaier throws 60 TD and wins the Heisman
4. Brian Kelly, Denbrock and House hoist the CFB Trophy on Jan. 8, 2024

None of these things will happen; that's why there's the rant.

I'd say 3 years is enough time to evaluate MM in terms of keeping him. I find myself in the odd predicament of wanting to defend both Wade and McMahon in every other thread on here. Just let things play out and judge coaches over time based on the circumstance they find themselves in. It is conceivable that LSU can have two really good coaches back-to-back that play different styles.

It isn't really a fair comparison. When Wade took the job he didn't have a arm tied behind his in the form of unknown potential NCAA sanctions.

Did you know Mike Kryzeski once lost to Virginia by 43 pts and a record of 38-47 after 3 seasons at Duke.

Dumb! When John Brady became HC, we were on probation. Handicap! After the first meeting with Brady most of the team players left. He had to completely rebuild the team with JCs and freshmen.
Brady said, I'm fortunate to follow Brown because Brown had built LSU's reputation as a basketball school.
When wade became HC, he followed two Coaches who had failed miserably. He succeeded.
When McMahon came aboard LSU was again a basketball power.
Do you think it's easier to recruit to LSU than Ole Miss, Ms St, A&M? It won't be easy but it's been proven it's possible, with the right coach.

Was there a Devil Rant back in those days? If so facto, then Coach Shishefsky got an earful, and then some.

It’s year one. Stfu. We lost so many people last year he put together the best he could. Recruits did not want to come here with the ncaa hanging over our heads. Let this deal pass and McMahon will be the savior in yalls eyes. Just stfu and try to enjoy a long hard basketball season

When we are in last again next year and year 3 you will still be here defending MM. he hasn’t done one thing yet to show he can right this ship. Our recruiting is lack luster which is our biggest concern. His lone sec win is a complete fraud as they are 1-4 now and have been a disabled team thanks to injuries before we beat them.

MM has to pick it up, basketball isn’t a 4 year turn around sport and if you build the roster as such you are not going to win in the sec.

Talent wins in the sec bottom line and basketball only takes 1 class to put that on. Freshmen have made huge impacts in basketball and you don’t need a lot of them. You don’t need much depth in basketball.

Sanctions shouldn’t stop a good coach. Especially in this NIL era and all games on TV. You sell kids on immediate playing time and tv time to get them to the draft.

Our recruiting currently looks like Murray state and that will never win the sec. Until he improves that he can x and o and develop all he wants while elite talent clowns his teams.

TJ tried to be mr 4 year player coach and not get in the mud with cal and he couldn’t do shite once the talent Brady brought in left. Mm going down that road currently.

Sure, but he also beat Michigan (national runner up) the day before that. This team hasn’t beaten anyone with a pulse all year.

Ok and Alabama is a much better team than the 2017-2018 Notre Dame.

I'd say Arkansas has a pulse, though they may be on life support at the moment. But this team is not as good as the 2017-2018 team, certainly not right now.

This board keeps acting like Wade never finished lower than 3rd or 4th in the SEC (depends on who’s posting), but the reality is that Wade’s team finished with a .500 record in league play in a 5 way tie for 5th place last year. This coming off 2 straight top 10 recruiting classes.

Wade did some very good things at LSU. But nothing great. And he is the cause of the current state of the program.

Even today in the new age of NIL, paying players or their families out of your own bank account will get a coach fired and likely a show cause (which still may happen to Wade). Show me another coach that has done exactly that and survived. You can’t.

Those are the facts.

Praise or criticize MM on his own limited merits so far and his handling of the circumstances the program finds itself. But to continue to prop up WW as something he is not and compare the two isn’t reasonable thought.

I can promise you, CMM has full support of the LSU AD....and nothing else matters.

If LSU lost that game by 5, would the narrative be the same?

Nope. Did you watch CJJ his last season?

Seems like a good guy that wants LSU to win,

Easily Bill Self, he's on recordings with an actual dollar number.

No, they are not facts.
