It's the basic excuse. We have great coaching, no players, best X's and O's. If we don't have the most numbnut basketball fans, I'm not sure who has.

Texas Tech is at least challenging the top teams in the Big 12 (single digit losses to Kansas, TCU, Texas, Baylor). LSU is getting destroyed by by good SEC teams and ALSO losing to average teams by double-digits.

Same Murray St that went to the 2nd round last year. There is plenty of talent to be competitive on this roster. MM just seems to be in over his head.
He wasn't getting any more talented people on campus. He got the players who were willing to come. Losing all those players from last year hurts. But we are not going to get much better until the issues surrounding the program get resolved. Go read Jaques Doucet.

McMahon is not inspiring to this fan. I have said it from the beginning. He gives a lot of coach speak without much actual content in his interviews and press conferences. He seems low energy and near apathetic on the court in games.
The base rate of great success for mid major coaches after the jump to the big time is low. The competition is greater and the number of spots at the top are fewer. I don't doubt that Woodward did due diligence, but I think that he offered too long of a contract. If McMahon turns into a Trent Johnson, I hope Woodward is able to convince big donors to bail him out of the mess.
I was always hyped and interested in the team the past 5 years. I will continue to go to home games, but I really don't have anywhere near the emotional bond. It is hard to get repeatedly beat over the head as a fan again and again with blowout losses.

That is the only way he was going to get Coach McMahon here. No Coach was going to come here with the allegations looming over the program unless they had assurance they weren't going to be fired during that time.
Like I hate I am having to defend McMahon here I wasn't a fan of the hire but I also know that we weren't going to be getting anybody due to the allegations. Until all that gets worked out this is the state of the program. And he is going to be given the time. He is known as an X's and O's Coach so if he is ever able to get the right players here then we will be successful but until Wade has his hearing and the NCAA brings forth sanctions or some final notice this is the state of the program.
