Should someone start a self-roast "Look-a-like" thread?

Dent
Clark
Niang
Dioubate
Dessert
I think...
Ruzic maybe for Dioubate...

quote:Donovan Dent is definitely starting at the point. Bashir may come off the bench with Skyy playing the 2, but that’s just a guess.
Skyy Clark G
Abdi Bashar G
Divine Uguchukwa G
Mo Dioubole F
Brice Dessert C

yea i see Bashir coming off the bench as a 6th man sharpshooter
yea he had a rough shooting game @ McNeese. I think we all saw what he is capable of in game 2, however

I would think about maybe having Clark come off the bench and Bashir start at the 2

So Dent and Clark played in the backcourt together at UCLA last year - who made the tourney as a 7-seed and advanced to the second round. And they are a year more experienced.
Couple them with the likes of Niang, Ruzic and Desert, we gonna be good.

Who comes off the bench first?
Dent, Clark, Niang, Dioubate, Dessert will likely start. Ruzic will get starter minutes 25+. Bashir will get 15+ minutes to throw up 3s. Ugochukwu will rotate in depending on game flow as backup PG or defensive 2.
That's your 8 man rotation.
Levy won't get much run outside of giving guys a breather or if Dessert and Ruzic get in foul trouble.
eta: I think Dioubate's experience and high energy play style gives him the nod at the starting 4 spot.
This is my guess for playing time give or take a few minutes per player.
PG Dent: 35 min/g
SG Clark: 25 min/g
SF Niang: 30 min/g
SF Dioubate: 20 min/g
C Dessert: 25 min/g
Ruzic: 25 min/g
Bashir: 15 min/g
Ugo: 15 min/g
Levy/Nunez/Pearson/Dent: 10 min/g

Nice. I didn’t know Dent was such a crucial piece but I’m reading up on him now. Kid looks the part.

Are Niang and Ruzic really freshmen in eligibility standing?!!
Ruzic is only 20 years old. Would think he has at least 2-3 years of eligibility left, maybe 4.
Niang is only 22, I would think under the 5 for 5 rule he has 1-2 years of eligibility after this year. Depends on whether the Cavs are going to pay him after this year (assuming they still have his rights - I’m by no means an expert here).
ETA. I think they are planning on Ruzic to be here at least two years. Would think they view Niang as a one-year product and anything after this year is Lagniappe.

By God. The more I read about this team and every player and their bios, the more intrigued I am. This team CAN win a conference championship.

Yeah, Bob, welcome to the party.

Go watch some of Dessert's highlights. 7 footers aren't supposed to be this athletic.

And a taste of what we can expect from Dent. Highlights from the UCF exhibition.

Yep, the 2 position I’m not sure is a definite. Bashir is so explosive offensively and gives you that element we’ll have to have with Dioubate and Dessert not being shooters I’m not 100% that Clark will start. He’s probably a better defender, he’s a solid offensive player, he’s played some PG but he doesn’t provide that high ceiling you get from Bashir. It’ll be interesting to see how that plays out, might have both guys with double digit starts by seasons end.

it's been a while since I've seen that many 6-11 7 footers on an LSU team
Sure, but can they play a tuba? :o)

Easily the most excited I've been about a basketball team in a long time.

If you want the team to be the most well rounded, and a better defensive lineup, i think you go with clark, but obviously they both will play alot
