You know how bad you have to be to not even be close to the NCAA tournament in 3 years? You'd have to be the worst coach in the conference.

Truth.

Dennis Gates took over a team that went 5-13, made the NCAA tournament year 1, then goes 0-18, and proceeds make the tournament again this year.

I couldn't help myself.

Even the AD uses that McXcuse. "Some" amount of years later 3-15 SEC. Excuse year "??" too.

Another fun fact is that Gates/Missouri spotted LSU/McMahon an ENTIRE season and still have 7 more SEC (regular season) wins than LSU does in 3 years.

The full brigade of AD/CoachMc acolytes have been unleashed since the loss against TAMU to make it 3-15 SEC.

Look at all the 2 post posters, etc.

Who you mad at? The agent that made the deal or the program?

I'm mad at 40 SEC losses in 3 seasons and no glimpse of hope.

And Scott feeding hack media with NIL PR will make it all right.

And the sheep gobble it up, it's like Gerber baby food to small brains. Now is new apple flavor.

Even worse that like 30 plus of the losses have been double digits.

I almost feel like this is an impossible stat.

So we basically win every 4th game and get blown out in 2 of the 3 others

Imagine if the LSU football coach went 14-40 in the SEC. Given an eight-game SEC schedule, that would take about seven seasons. There's no way an LSU football coach would survive a 14-40 SEC record.

Imagine if the LSU baseball coach went 14-40 in the SEC. There's no way an LSU baseball coach would survive a 14-40 SEC record.

So why is men's basketball -- or more specifically, Matt McMahon -- different? Because he was dealt a bad hand to start with? Fine, we can all agree to write off his first season. Sure he reached the NIT last season and lost a first-round home game, but the program took a huge step back this season.

It's insulting to hear him say he now understands the importance of the portal/NIL, especially given he had to build his first team through the portal. I'm hoping he's gone after Nashville, but I think we'll have to suffer through one more season of this, and in the process losing quality candidates who will make moves this season.

Not sure we can all agree on that - but I'm splitting hairs.
