Hilliard IS an SEC starter and Money is arse?

Money looked great against inferior competition, but I can’t think of a start in the SEC where he’s been that consistent, dominate starter this staff desperately needs.

They scored 4 thru 7 with that shitty defense behind him. At some point the bats have to do something

Hilliard has been my favorite player since he came to LSU along with Vietmeier
Both, while not extraordinary pitchers, bring more to the team than most realize & will be missed next season

Shitty defense doesn’t cause balls being hit to the wall or over it. He gave up 3 HRs and there were many more that were questionable off the bat. At some other parks in this league, it would’ve been 5-6 HRs in 7 innings.

He gets behind in counts and is forced to throw too many FBs. Once have seen him one time throw, you better start praying cause they tend to start teeing off on him.

It was one of Money's better outings in awhile. We scored 0 runs.

meh, they were teeing off on him from the first inning. He had issues early throwing the ball high in the zone. It wasn't a good outing for him, IMO.

Pitched good enough for us to win vs one of the best teams in the country.

They were smacking the ball all over the place. He had exactly 1 K. 1, is not good.

3 solo home runs. The offense also had 2 on with no outs and got a big goose egg out of it. This wasn’t all on money. The bats crapped the bed.

I will take giving up only 4 runs every game 2 of the season. At some point the alleged “one of the top offenses in the country” has to step up and start winning games for us. If this team, especially with this defense, is counting on winning low scoring games we are in big trouble.

I agree. Pitching ain’t why we lost. Can’t win with 0 runs.

This isn't my opinion. He pitched okay against Miss St but couldn't get us past 4 innings. Yesterday was one of his better outings in awhile. He hadn't pitched well since Oklahoma.

Strange time to call him out when he's actually gotten better in the last few outings. He doesn't have anything to put guys away with. Never has. Everything he throws stays within like a 6-8 inch radius and doesn't have particularly good bite. All fine if you miss barrels and don't walk people and the defense makes plays - that was generally the case yesterday - a few of the hits were trash and at least 1 of the HRs was a wind aided pop up. He got us nearly 7 innings of work, which is huge.

Nolan Ryan isn't gonna win a game with 0 run support.

Home runs will get you beat most of the time. Especially when you give up 2 or 3 of them and your team gets shutout.

Money was slap awful last night, as he has been in SEC outings this season and especially last season. He should only start in midweek games vs instate weak sisters.

What you see in Hilliard is maturity, composure to go with a great breaking pitch. He seems immune to all the misfortune.

Or maybe they’re both capable but inconsistent.

Got to be able to produce 4 runs or more if you’re going to win ball games. None of our pitchers are aces and we knew that going into the season. Money has to hit his spots because he doesn’t have great movement or a great slider. Plus he missed his spots several times with his FB last night. 3 of those went out. Bottom line is our great offense couldn’t produce.
