Yeah. Screw showing a little courtesy and respect for other LSU fans. Who cares if standing blocks their view of the game?

I personally have a very low expectation of courtesy when I'm at a football game with 93k other people. Where the eff do you think you are, the opera?

With all due respect to older ticket holders - it's as disrespectful to ask me to sit while you sit as it is for me to stand while you're sitting. Either contribute to what makes Tiger Stadium great, watch from home, move sections, or quit crying.

Cant wait to see all those LSU fans sitting while all the Bama fans politely sit drinking their mint juleps with Bear Bryant fans gently caressing the breeze of a mild southern night while crickets chirp in the distance.

The intensity of the fans make a difference.

I don't see how my enjoyment of the game should be dependent upon lessening the enjoyment of someone else. Does being at a football game and not the opera require me to be selfish? I didn't know that was a rule.
Thanks for telling me how you feel about others.

Some of you younger critters think you HAVE to stand all the time. It's a goddamned game folks. The world is not going to continue or end over it. Civilization will continue in some form regardless of the game. THERE IS NOTHING IN THE frickING GAMEPLAN THAT NEEDS YOU TO STAND.

Many of you youngsters are doing without something else in order to pay to be at the game.

That's not the case for a number of us older folks who have had our careers and amassed a few assets. If a lot of us older critters are not purchasing tickets and buying concessions, revenue goes down and those ticket prices are going to go up even more than they normally would. At that point, you are going to either be doing without more in your personal live to afford your seat and get priced out of the market.

Nope, we can't jump up and down like we once did. But we still like to be at the games, and a number of us have been there through thick and thin.

So quit absorbed totally about yourselves and a show a little respect for those around you. B

By the way, if you are one of those obnoxious assholes and standing in front of me the whole time, I am going to get you removed. If the deputies don't act on it, the you just might find my bulldick cane up your arse.

Go to the student section. They never sit.

I sit until the person in front of me stands. But usually those circumstances are when EVERYONE stands. It's sorta common sense to know when to stand and when to sit.

Like knowing when you can't hold it anymore.

A one word summary for the life of the lazy. "Easy".

And I've stood in Tiger Stadium my entire life - never once been asked to leave.

False. It's the idea that whether or not I stand should be dictated by the lazy person behind me.

If you want to stand during the game, watch it in the student section. Tons of seats available after the first quarter!

No. Its a football game. And since footballs beggining, stadiums were built for fans to go CHEER for their favorite teams. So, if you do not want to go support your team, stay home and watch it on a nice big screen. That way you can sit your lazy arse in a Lazy Boy and watch the game.

Why thank you. I am. All the people who stand up and cheer with me think so to.

Everyone is still bashing this dude.....

did anyone catch the fact that he later posted that the 17 rows in front of him was standing up?

If that were the case, then he can stand up. I'm not going to sit down and not be able to see because some crybaby behind me doesn't want to take the time to stand with everyone else.

If you read the thread you will see that I also stand up when it's a 3rd down situation, big play, or if everyone around me is standing as well. I just don't judge people's fandom on how they choose to enjoy a LSU football game.

Right. From what I've always been able to tell, in Tiger Stadium, people generally stand and yell when it's appropriate to do so, and sit down when it's appropriate to do so (eta, and, yep, I've been to huge games - Fla '97, Ga. '03 - where that was pretty much every play in the entire game).

These clowns who say they they have seats outside the student section or the very lower levels, and stand for literally every play of every game, are either completely full of crap, or do a good job of concealing themselves from me because I don't see anyone doing that from where I'm sitting/standing.
