It really is crazy how far we've come at the QB position. Not to mention we have guys like Garrett Nussmeier and Myles Brennan on the same depth chart. Oh yeah and the number 1 QB coming in next year. Wow

And 2nd in the nation.

A much more entertaining brand of football!

Looked really good besides the interception. Hopefully he builds on this game going forward.

But how many of them were 50/50 balls that we should now count as interceptions?

Scraping the gutter. Never change.

Rog, your inability to recognize sarcasm is getting worse pal.

Not to knock him, but 3 or 4 of those would have at least been batted down and likely intercepted against decent DBs. He will need to get a little more air under his deep balls going forward.

Here you go, Roger.
This is the guy you should have made your comment towards.

did you watch any LSU football in 2019? there were quite a few 50/50 balls that season too.

A run game helps him exponentially.

Good point. I would add that these are not 50/50 balls. When a DB has his back to the QB, and the WR is looking at the QB, the WR has a big advantage.
LSU’s first TD against Bama in 2019 was a jump ball that Chase adjusted to and Diggs did not see in time.

The first touchdown pass was an absolute terrible throw.

And Rantards wanted to bench him for Nuss.

I'm not saying he's anywhere near Burrow talented, but when Joe started trusting his WRs to win contested catches he threw a lot of these and our superior WRs' ability to win 50/50 balls became a big part of his success.

But the rant said Nuss should be starting??

When you have great receiver talent you want to throw the 50/50 balls in single coverage because more times than not the receiver is going to win that battle and in most worst cases it’ll probably be incomplete.

It’s not that they’re 50/50 balls. All of his deep balls were under thrown. Need to fix before better dbs

Sean Salisbury had it right when he advised fans to give Max a chance. Sean said he ‘trusts the DNA’, and that Max is progressing. I agree. I think we are in very good hands at the position, with our young QB. His chemistry with the receiving Corp we have is clearly getting better….Just watch.

If it was an absolutely terrible throw, we wouldn't have even had chance at a TD. It was pretty accurate, but a little underthrown and perfect coverage. But Smith made a phenomenal catch.
