Hope Brennan sticks it out but Max does seem to have it all. Not that Brennan played bad before the injury but this offense definitely had another gear and Max has three years left. His potential is very promising at this point

Brennan is still much better than Max. Hopefully Max has some packages but it's not even close overall.

If you cant tell which one is a better talent throwing the ball then I cant help you.

Not you but people in general.

For max to win it he will have to do everything that doesnt include throwing the ball much better because arm talent isnt even in the same stratosphere.

Means nothing at this point and time. Wait until end of spring practice. I like our QB situation.

I like the tone O is setting. Don’t care who you are or what you’ve done. If you show you can play you will get to show it. Mj, Brennan, Finley are both incredibly likable. Hard to root against Brennan with everything he’s gone through, but at the same time not many freshman can pull of what Max did last year against a top ranked Florida team. Regardless who gets it just glad LSU has a legitimate in house QB competition.

Let’s just sit back and appreciate that the practice videos no longer involve three quarterbacks spraying the ball everywhere except to the WRs

One of the four has to take the first team reps on the first day. Max had the best starting record of the three returnees. Don't read much into it, just one day.

maybe its just psychological to help max and push brennan? maybe everyone gets a turn as practice starter? maybe the coaches wanna see how each one handles the "starter" title being bestowed on them in practice? maybe its placating each one's ego as long as possible until theres a clear cut starter and perhaps an odd man out. its like i remind my stepson about grapefruit league baseball: its spring practice- just get bigger, stronger and stay healthy

Ill get us started. Max Johnson showed flashes and consistency better than myles best play. If max is killing it now, invest. He really showed the IT factor several times.

There is no question who throws the football better {Brennan}
Finding receivers open, making the reads, making the decision, handling the pressure, avoiding pressure and getting rid of the ball Max clearly was better. Max had no college experience and Brennan had 3 years practicing on the LSU football team

Again, Brennan has a cannon arm and given time in the pocket this kid can play but with pressure in my opinion struggled. Some on rant will disagree and no doubt the yardage Brennan put up is great but his 3rd down and red zone stats were not good.

My thoughts are Brennan starts but if he looks spooked Max will be in very quick

We seriously have 3 QB’s who could go for us. I’m pretty sure most teams would be happy as hell to have TJ as a back up. Let’s hope we hold onto all three going into the season.

Why wouldn’t Max get first team reps? Look at the competition Max played against last year. He has the it factor. He gets it. Myles is good but look at the competition he played against. Myles played great but I still think he gets rattled a lot more than Max does. Let this play out and then let the best man start. If one struggles make a change during the season.

He did a helluva job last year and should be the starter.

It SHOULD be an open competition. This isn't spring or even fall 2020 where Brennan, despite having fairly limited meaningful game experience, still had MUCH more than the two freshmen combined (who had none). Now Finley has more SEC starts than Brennan, Johnson has only one less, and you could argue they both have as much, if not more, MEANINGFUL snaps than Brennan. That's not to say Brennan shouldn't and won't be the starting QB this fall but the calculus has completely changed because of his injury last season. Johnson and Finley are much further along in their development than anyone anticipated they would be at this time.

If the reality that Brennan's job as the starting QB is not set in stone pushes him to get better then than would GREAT for the entire team. Same for if it pushes Johnson and Finley.

Frankly, I don't care who is the starting QB...as long as that guy earned it. "Earned it" not being simply that he "stuck it out" for 5 years. Earned it being he is the best QB on the roster TODAY.

O didn't really mince words with why Johnson got the first team snaps to start: "There is one QB that is 2-0 on campus and that's him". That said, watch the rant lose their collective minds when word leaks after one of the next few practices that Finley got first team snaps
