Interesting clip

That team would have been pretty good. They were already pretty decent with crappy QB play.

LSU beats Auburn and the Georgia game would have at least been interesting. LSU wins the West.

Georgia would have been our only loss that year. He could have scored maybe in the 20s but we still gave up over 40 points. That was the only game Jacob Hester ever fumbled at LSU and dumbass Xavier Carter kneeled the ball at the 1 yard line. It was just their day. We beat Auburn and probably play Virgina tech in the sugar bowl. I was happy Auburn got left out being that they beat us but I was hoping Oklahoma would beat USC.

Me too, that game UGA was brutal, had to leave mid 3rd Qtr

Their fans suck and have never won shite. They destroyed LSUJuice's car attena we had to pick up a radio at Walgreens or something to have radio for the ride back.
Every time we beat those fricks I take great pleasure

LSU would have won the SEC again.

Yeah we would have still lost to Georgia, but people forget Georgia didn't win the East that season.

We would have kicked Tennessee's arse in Atlanta just like we always do.

I don't concede the UGA game in '04 as readily as others assuming Mauck stayed. That changed the whole offensive chemistry which in turn changes the whole ebb-n-flow of the game. Just sayin.

Probably win another NC. That’s what we all thought at the time.. no idea how it would have turned out in the NFL for him

Seems pretty obvious that there wasn’t a good relationship between Matt and Saban. Matt felt NS didn’t want him back.

I did my part. I chanted “1 more year” from the crowd in the dome after we beat Oklahoma for the championship

Yep, like I’ve said before, no love lost between he and Saban - Mauck didn’t need him as a “daddy” figure. It put Saban off.

He would have left regardless.

Dr Matt Mauck is a member of the LSU alumni association here in Denver. It's been a few years since I've seen him here at one of our crawfish boils, but he's one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet and a great fan of his time at LSU. Not to mention, he's the reason for the #18 tradition.

Matt Mauck was a great guy.

I attended LSU's football camp back in the summer of 2002. I arrived late and went into the wrong stadium gate, not knowing where I was supposed to go.

Mauck found me wandering around and brought me to where all the campers were being weighed and measured. He chatted with me the whole time, asking where I was from, what position I played, etc.

When we got to the lines of campers, one of the coaches started giving me the tough guy treatment, asking why I was late. Matt laughed and pulled me out of that coach's line and put me in another line.

I know, CSB.
