I would be SHOCKED if he were retained. However, I don't expect to hear anything publicly on that front for at least a few weeks...if not longer. That's not going to satisfy the Rant's bloodlust. But I think that is how BK will play it.
Look at last year. The special teams were awful. Throughout the season, and immediately after, EVERYONE was screaming for Kelly to fire Polian. Weeks went by with no news on that front. Then, in late February, it was reported that Polian was "transitioning to a new role with the team". Then, in May, Polian accepts a job as the AD at a D-III school. I PROMISE you that is not the role he was gunning for in his career. He was quietly pushed out of LSU and allowed to find a landing spot.
Given the DC job is far more important than the special teams coach I don't think it will be late February before we hear House will be moving on. But I don't think that just because you haven't heard anything TWO days after the end of the season it means House is going to be retained. As long as BK knows what he is doing, I don't really give a shite when he makes a public announcement to the fans. If he would dump the ONE coach who came with him from ND after one terrible performance he will do the same to the coach that cost LSU a potential playoff season.
Remember, Orgeron and Canada had a falling out in the first month of the 2017 season. Everyone assumed Canada would be fired. Then, LSU went through the entire month of December and Canada was the OC in the bowl game vs. ND. Everyone here panicked that Canada was going to be kept on...he wasn't.

BK isn’t on the rant time. I believe a hire will be made after early signing day. He is trying to retain the signees & that’s whenever a lot of coaching movement happens

There should be a running evaluation of the coaches and players throughout the season. This doesn't take a "few weeks". Hopefully Kelly is just keeping the fans and media at bay while he contacts replacement options so this can be a quick and seamless transition.

If Kelly is going to fire House, then he needs to do it sooner rather than later. Recruiting will take a major hit if it even appears Kelly won't make a move.

House has already worked 2 of his 3 year deal, if that's who you are referring to. His buyout is not massive at all.

Who's to say that is not being communicated to recruits already? What he tells the fans is totally immaterial to recruiting. Remember, Oregeron did not fire Matt Canada until January 5, 2018...They still signed two good offensive players named Chase and Marshall.
Just because you and I don't know doesn't mean the people who actually need to know don't have the important information

Not sure what amount is exact buyout, and everthing is relative these days, but it appears to be a large buyout which must be balanced against the cost of a new quality DC.

He basically has 1 year remaining on his contract. If fired he gets 90% of roughly 2 million.

While I agree, do we put any stock in what Jordy says? I tune out his “inside sources” most of the time but it seems like a pretty big claim for him to make that House will be retained, if he didn’t at least hear it from someone who knew what they were talking about.

He will be. It will be said that it was made clear at the beginning of the season our defense was a year away from being what it needs to be (that actually was said by BK) and that it will be drastically improved next year.
