I agree. Not just men, but everyone. There should be a few years of compulsory military service. However, boot camp isn't going to toughen most people. Boot camp was extremely easy.

If he saw that you didn't respond well to harsher criticism, he'd find a different way to motivate you.
That's the biggest difference. Some guys respond better to tough couching and some don't. A coach's job is to figure it out
If it's good for the player, it's good for the team. The reverse is also true.
