He had some drops in the early games, but so did every other receiver. Maybe chalk it up to bad chemistry or bad QB play early on. As Daniel’s has turned the corner so has every receiver and Taylor as well.

Dude, I knew you were going to post that block. The Broadcasters spoke about it live.

YOU have NO clue at looking at the entire picture.
You da guy who get enamored with players because the media hypes them up.

Please sit down.

AUBURN GAME COMMENTS BELOW ( HAD TOTAL OF 5 DROPS IN GAME)

LSU’s offense had a rough start as well, a three-and-out with two drops from freshman Tight End Mason Taylor.

If you want,I can look at all his drops that were actually easy catches from 10-15 yard from every game before the Ole Miss game.

Cursing at me over a difference of opinion on a player.. hahahahaha, What a snowflake

He’s worth the on-the-job training. Dude is earning his stripes this year, good bad and ugly.

The passing offense seems to be running through Mason Taylor, a freshman TE who has three drops so far, which is a bit of a confusing decision given the wide receiver talent on the team.

From 247 Reporters !

I guess they see it all wrong too. LMAO

Mason, may turn out to be a great player but please you are completely overboard this early in the season.

He’ll catch two touchdowns against Bama.

I believe Saban will gameplan around stopping others, and leave Taylor available in the red zone.

Hey, I hope the guy is a superstar. He has to prove it first.

He hasn't shown me anything but one nice game against Ole miss.

Hey, I want all of our guys to Shine! Especially the younger ones.

Now if you want to bring up Harold Perkins being a superstar, I am all on board, this kid produces results every game .

Naa, im the guy enamored with players who overcome adversity and don't quit on their team. I am the guy who likes coaches who looks square into the media questioning his calls on who the quaterback should be and stone cold says "We see it differently" and then is proven the frick right.

You seem like the guy that doesnt like to give credit where it is due and hate on players for having a bad night while learning on the road in the sec as a true freshman.

also.. You a Bitch

Bump away. I never said bench Taylor like some others here did. I said the staff should give some of the obvious passing downs to Bech or another 4th or 5th WR over forcing the TE to be a big part of the offense because that’s what Denbrock prefers. But I wouldn’t and don’t say the same today. I just didn’t think Denbrock, Daniels and the offense as a whole would shift as much as it has over the last two games, but I’m very happy they have.

I’ve been very consistent on Taylor. I think he will be a very good player, but he was forced into a bigger role than he was ready for early in the season, especially as a blocker. I am very happy to see his improvement, though. He had a great game vs Ole Miss and I hope that continues. I think it will. I don’t believe Taylor is on the level with Campbell, Jones and Perkins as true freshmen who walked in the door ready to go, but he’s definitely outpacing the rest of a very talented freshman class.

Part of what makes Taylor, as well as everyone else in this offense, more effective today is Daniels’ growth as a QB and confidence throwing the ball the last 2 1/2 games. He was forcing the ball to Taylor as a check down option when he was stuck in his shell earlier on. That’s no longer the case and our WRs are all playing well now that they are getting the ball. And Taylor hasn’t just grown into his role, but the he also isn’t being targeted more than any other receiving option on the field anymore, as was the case when we played Auburn and the passing offense just completely broke down. He’s in a role that works for him now.

If Daniels is going to keep distributing the ball to all of the WRs, backs and TEs (even Nick Storz got a nice target and catch that got called back for a penalty in the first half) the way he has lately, then there’s no reason to change anything. He doesn’t need a 3rd down safety blanket when he’s getting the ball out and opening up the field to throw or run the way he is today.

Let's pump the brakes a little bit here

Mason Taylor finally had a very solid game against Ole Miss but he was also the lowest graded player on the entire offense previously (and still technically is for the entire season). He had a pretty rough year up to this point. Has the lowest completion % of any receiver/TE on the team at just 59%, Boutte just a small step better at 61% who we've all seen struggle a bunch this year. And Mason is really learning the physical nature of the game in the blocking aspect and is 'coming along' there.

I think Mason Taylor is going to end up being a good player for us but sometimes we just need to pump the brakes a bit on here calling a guy stud after 1 decent game

Fact is Mason is only playing this much because our TE room absolutely sucks. Kole Taylor has never been it and then it's full of a bunch of walk ons. It's a room Kelly is rebuilding as we speak so hopefully it becomes something that's a real weapon for us next year or by 2024. Mason should be a big part of that.
