Mask requirement BS

Quit it with the “I’m not going to the home games because of the liberal mask and vaccine requirement”. I’ve been to both home games with large groups of people and neither time have any of us had to walk in with a mask on or show our vaccination cards. Quit making excuses. Either show up because you want to support the team or don’t show up because you’re a beta penny-pincher. Don’t say you aren’t showing up bc of some “rule” that was made up but isn’t enforced bc you want to sound like a badass to a bunch of strangers on the internet

There is no mask rule except those under 12 and my gate checked for vaccine/ test both games.

Yeah, they are about as laid back with the requirements as you can get! I didn’t see anyone in the under areas of the stadium with a mask. To get my wrist band I just flashed a card. They didn’t even look at it. Anyone complaining is complaining for nothing!

I’d say the people not showing up because of the requirement are pissed off because of the obvious virtue signaling by the university and not the enforcement of it.

No one wore masks in stadium and no one is enforcing it
As far as vaccine card
They are checking at gate but there is no way to prove it’s you if you are not vaccinated

No doubt, and it’s obvious LSU wanted the National headline and nothing else
For the record. I was asked to show my vaccine card the first game but not the second. Wore a mask the first game until I entered the stadium but didn’t wear one the second game. Seems very loosely enforced (thankfully)

Exactly
To my knowledge there is no other SEC school with such requirements, and there are very few across the nation with such. The fact that, as the OP notes, LSU only half-assed tries to "enforce" it clearly states the requirements have NOTHING to do with a concern for public safety and EVERYTHING to do with political/university leaders wanting to leverage LSU football to force people to cave to their political whims. There are some, perhaps many, who love LSU football but simply don't want to participate in that political game. So they are choosing not to attend

So let me get this straight. The school announced a rule for both entry requirements as well as while attending that damn near a majority of fans disagree with and a large portion, all be it smaller, vehemently disagree with. On top of years of actions and decisions that eroded game day atmosphere in an attempt to squeeze every penny out of every attendee and individual on campus.
And you want people to just get over it because they aren’t enforcing it? If LSU hadn’t spent the last 5-8 years restricting parking, restricting tailgating, corporatizing tickets, and everything inside tiger stadium, these entry requirements and mask mandates would probably have impacted attendance some, but not a lot.
Throw these rules on top of everything else this past decade and you get people looking at the current leadership and people believing: “You don’t give two shits about me or my experience. You simply think you deserve my money regardless of your actions because of my sentimental ties to the university”.
Guess what, people have choices, and they are choosing to make a statement to the university that they disagree with these policies and disagree with this leadership.

I know I’m in the minority here but I’d actually be less pissed off if they actually DID enforce it. By choosing to not enforce shite, it makes it obvious it is ALL political theatre.
