B.S. on Coach Miles throwing Saban's notes into the garbage. Never happened, just the opposite, he always made note of how much Saban helped him.

Not only that, but can you picture Saban, once he had accepted the Miami offer, taking time away from his new gig in order to make notes for his replacement? Ha ha.

Maybe Bertman asked for it, and Saban had an intern prepare it.

I love seeing former players on the sideline getting the boys hyped, and still enjoying themselves. You can tell the culture being built will be second to none.

Lots of talk about how great it was that O got this moving, and was never a thing with miles.

On here, BR radio guys, etc... you don’t need a link just trust me I’m always right

O actively asked alumni to come around. That's different than saying Miles didn't allow it.

If Skylar Green rooted against the Tigers just because his panties were in a wad about Miles hurting his feelings then he can kick rocks and not come back. Imagine being a player from 2007 knowing that Green wanted Bama to win over you.

LSU had plenty of double numbers under Les

It’s impossible not to

And Skyler Green did root against LSU, because he’s a sissy. LINK

I remember it being reported that this actually did happen. Saban loved LSU and had a hard time leaving and wanted to help the next coach any way he could. He wanted LSU to be successful and thought he was going to be in the NFL for a long time.

There are always coaches who come in and don’t want old players around their system. Apparently Miles wasn’t as friendly to Saban’s players. Tennessee had similar issues under Butch Jones. It’s not that uncommon. But it’s dumb.

So he was rude to guys like Kyle Williams, Glenn Dorsey, Jamarcus, Matt Flynn, and pretty much every other key member of his first 3 teams?

THAT'S what I find very hard to believe - that Saban, who was mentally checked out here once he accepted the Miami job (and the bowl loss in his final game at LSU showed that he was) would actually put in any work to help out his successor. Saban is about Saban, and always has been. Look how he bailed on the Dolphins after finding out he couldn't cut it as an HC in the NFL.

LOL did he even come back from the bowl game in Orlando with the team in 2004? Didn't he hold out to say that he was leaving for Miami preventing LSU admin from starting an active replacement search earlier in the month? Saban was all about Saban. I don't blame the guy for taking a shot at the NFL when the Dolphins were basically giving him 100% control but he failed miserably. He was drafting players that he had relationships with and recruited in high school like that CB that was terrible from Tennessee.

This is correct. I believe the best way to say it is that O openly invited ex-players to come around and be involved in the program, including attening practices. Miles didn’t openly invite it but allowed it.

Here’s a link to an article about it.... LINK

Quotes from Article:

quote:

“After speaking with him briefly yesterday morning, his vision is to empower our former Tigers to feel welcomed back on campus,” the email, sent Tuesday morning, said. “Coach O would like to open practice to the former players for the rest of this season and would also like to make it available for our former players to lead the team down Victory Hill on game day. This will create the excitement that we all know follows the purple and gold and to continue the trend that we are all ‘Tigers for Life.’”

quote:

Les Miles, fired Sunday along with offensive coordinator Cam Cameron, only sometimes opened practices to former Tigers, an LSU staff member confirmed. He did not necessarily invite them to practice, the staff member said.
