Lol I guess you’ve missed the last 30 years..

Classless Florida players holding up a skeleton Tiger after Mike passes of cancer

LSU band interrupting Tom Petty tribute in the swamp literally the day after he dies

Brandon spikes punting the ball into the stands after a pick 6

Brad Wing taunting penalty while we’re whipping their arse

Spurrier running up the score against shitty LSU teams

That's not even half of the rivalry.
6) FL upset in '97 and fans rushing the field
7) FL upset in 2002
8) Tebow jump pass in 2006
9) Hester 4 4th down conversions in '07
10) FL running up the score in '08
11) Fake FG for a TD (2015?)
12) Hurricane back and forth of where to play and fanbases bitchin'
13) Goal line stop in 2016
14) LSU jump pass karma in 2019
15) Shoe toss last year

I'm sure I missed more.

In other news water is wet and Florida will use a wind storm to cancel a game because of injuries

Beat me to it. LSU will trade playing Gaytors, Aub & Bammer every year for Texass, ZeroU & Mizzou.

I’ll take that deal.

Why? Those games won’t be nearly as fun. It’s fun to play your rivals.

You must be young. Next to the gumps, they are the most hated team in the SEC and that goes back to the Charlie Pell days. It was infinitely worse once Spurrier showed up.

I'm kinda old.

You can argue that the rivalry first heated up around 1976 when, for the first time, both teams were ranked in the Top 20 when they played each other.

1982 was another step up when unranked LSU beat #4 Florida in Gainesville.

1997 was when. after losing 9 in a row to Florida and being embarrassed by Spurrier a few times, #14 LSU upset #1 Florida.

The 2003 LSU NC year was only blemished by a 19-7 loss to Florida.

Then came the famous 2007 Jacob Hester game.

Since 2010, LSU has won 9 of 12 including a few late game comebacks.

And for many other reasons others have posted this rivalry has been bitter for a long time.

Depends on perspective. Living & working around fans of all 4, I look forward to building bigger new rivalries.

Hasn’t been fun watching the Gaytors cost LSU a conference win every couple of years instead of getting to sub in Vandy, UK, SC, etc.

It's been bitter since Arnsparger, bro. New age fans don't even know the history. This just rejuvenates the rivalry.
