Got the link from SECr- you have to join to get more quotes/reviews, but it’s a pretty cool site

Only two reviews for Kelly. Not much to take from them but figured I’d share.

Zaire:
quote:

"From a coaching standpoint, he is going to get the results somehow. Whether his plans include you, you never know. He does a five star job of getting the right guys to coach. He isn't the guy that I'd go to for helping me become the best QB in the world. You can't deny what he has been able to accomplish, but I don't see too many people arguing like he is Dabo Swinney or Urban Meyer. You are going to learn a lot being around his system. You are not just going to be simply spoon fed what you need for the next level."

Anonymous:
quote:

"He is a great guy. He runs the program like a CEO. He has obviously seen so much and is very adaptable since nothing surprises him. He just needs to become a little more of a players' coach. He has improved in the last 5 years."

This is what I heard.

"I need you to do more for me."

I noticed he’d mellowed out probably even more than 5 years ago. At least on the sidelines. He may be a raging a-hole on the practice field, but he’s smart enough to have figured out the constant QB berating doesn’t play as well as it used to.

Agreed. And the part about him not being a QB whisperer doesn’t bother me- I trust him to get a coach who can handle that. I was most impressed with Zaire saying Kelly finds the right players. That’s exactly what this program needs.

Sounds like a fair critique

Honestly say what you will about Kelly. I promise you this… LSU will be prepared and will have great coaches coaching our great players. I wonder what Brian Kelly thinks of CEO hiring Pelini without an interview? We will be prepared week in and week out and the days of having to wonder if our game plan is worth a shite is gone. He just wins and I don’t see him doing anything different than that at LSU.

Saban is not a “players” coach. But his players respect him and lay it on the line for him, even when they don’t feel like laying it on the line for themselves. The Kelly hire puts us in the same ballpark as bama. To the next level.

That had better stand for chief executive officer.

He lost me at "Urban Meyer". For weeks I'd been pushing him here as the Great White Whale candidate--but as we find out more and more about his behavior at Jax I'm now saying thank God Woodward knew better and went nowhere near that swirling toilet bowl.

Urban had a full team of criminals except Tebow. Urban is a scumbag.

Not the worst critique from a guy with less than the best experience.

Iam Book is fricking 70 miles away. Has anyone asked him about Kelly?

So he's basically great at what our last two coaches were horrible at.

I said I'd take a hard pass on Urban and people couldn't understand why. Well, turmoil has followed him everywhere he has went. My reasoning was strictly on keeping LSU away from unneeded trouble and that is what you can get with him. I've never disputed his coaching ability but at the same time, he can possibly put your school in the death penalty.

For a very long time LSU has recruited under the pretense you play 3 years and off to The League you go.
We will benefit by a a lesser attrition rate each year.

The QB he seemingly screamed at the most, Rees, worked for him for years afterwards too.

You’re not his kid. He’s not your father. Do your job as a player and don’t worry whether or not you two are pals. You’re here to play football, not be BFFs with the coaches. That’s what your teammates are for. Holy shite what a soft baby bitch perspective.
