Makes me sick seeing the 2018 offense bad mouthed continually on this board

That offense successfully executed more critical plays at critical times than any offense LSU has had in years.

No amount of fancy, misleading statistics can change what all of our eyes saw

That’s why it is completely warranted to be so excited about next year’s offense. We saw the base foundation this last year, and boy did it show resiliency and even beauty at times.

Repeating ad nauseum the idea that “hurr durr the offense sucked” doesn’t make it true

Did it?

I remember A clutch play Vs Auburn and that’s about it.

We won games but not like in the last minute

I’m excited for next year because we don’t look like last year

What stats are fancy and misleading?

I’m not saying I 100% agree with OP but the Georgia came was a goddamn clinic in how to make clutch plays to close out a game.

This is the classic "Blame Aranda and the D for giving up a go-ahead TD drive to Florida after the offense scored" argument. Ignoring that the offense did nothing for about two straight quarters. How about the offense consistently puts up points and sustains drives all game, and consistently scores in the mid-30's like most well-coached modern offenses?

Then we aren't splitting hairs about big plays to go up 20-17 in the fourth. Score more than 20-24 fricking points on a regular basis.

The offense in 2018 was better than it's been in recent memory, but still not where it needs to be in terms of overall production and consistency.

Well, the offense looked hopeless against Alabama again so that's probably what people are referring to.

The Georgia game was a thing of beauty. The offense looked fantastic for a change.

Just way too inconsistent the rest of the season. Like most seasons the past 10 years or so.

We were one of the worst offenses in the country for 10 games.

We padded our stats agains Ole Miss, Rice and UCF.

We scored 47% of our points for the entire season in 4 games.

We scored 50% of our offensive TDS in 4 games

By what measure?

Most LSU fans aren't happy unless they have something to complain about. The offense is always an easy target. But this year is going to be better because we've finally got a stable QB situation.

You need to take the purple and gold glasses off and rewatch with an unbiased opinion. The offense was a liability and that’s just a fact. Hopefully it’s different this year but word is the OL is still having major issues.

Maybe, because it has been historically bad since 2008, outside of one year???

LSU's offense is a national running joke. And.... it's not because LSU fans complain about it.

All anyone is asking for is a well-balanced offense, that can score TD's above average in the Red Zone, and be somewhere between 25-50th in Total Offense in the country. That's not too much to ask for with the talent level being recruited here.

Is total 1st doesn’t a better indicator of execution that passing % or YPP?

We averaged 24.5 points per game in SEC play if you don’t count the AM overtime points. And that includes a huge outlier of a game against Ole Miss and it includes defensive/ST scores and almost scores.

That’s just not good enough.

Got some proof to back that up?

Actually it can

10+ years of failure (with 2013 being an exception) makes it completely warranted to not get our hopes up
