Etling, channels The Matt Syndrome, and plays out of his mind next year, Guice one ups Fournette & wins The Heisman, Defense looks better next year than this, and goes into Tuscaloosa and Donuts Satan.

It's more difficult to beat the unknown. We will be unknown next year. If we stay healthy, other teams fall apart like Florida and A&M and if Kiffin gets arrested, Bama QB injured and frogs grow wings, we'll win the natty. If we pay Saban $13 million, he and Terry will be in Baton Rouge.

I keep going back and forth on this.
No matter how you look at it, it's a longshot.
Unless some light bulbs come on the OL is still going to be a weakness. Losing Pocic and Boutte isn't going to help.
Middle linebackers are going to be weaker, but White has shown some major promise.

I don't know how the DL will be without Godchaux and Neal, but getting LAC back is a possiblitiy. Isaiah Washington was looking pretty promising before his injury. Lawrence is going to be a stud and Key is coming back.

Secondary should be OK. Safety is a little worrisome with Battle and I guess Smith. CBs will be fine.

The case for a NC run would have to include a couple of guys like Chidi, and Washington just playing well above what we're expecting (like a Duke Riley type of year). White will have to be a pretty fantastic middle linebacker.
And, as always, improved QB play..
Along with some good bounces and favorable calls.

nope. All of those can be improved, but you can't "coach" an inaccurate guy to make him accurate. Yes, you can work on his mechanics and that may help, but if a guy is inaccurate as a junior in college, he ain't getting much better.

Same for reading defenses, pocket presence, etc. A lot of that is natural. Sure, film study and coaching can improve it, but usually a guy has it or he doesn't.

My case: While visiting DT prospect Jacob Lacey in Bowling Green, KY, Nick Saban falls in a blue hole and is never heard from again. Meanwhile, the spirit of Tommy Hodson infiltrates Danny Etling which causes the Tigers to field an upper echelon passing game.

Has Godchaux announced he's going early. Has Dupre redeemed himself sufficiently to be a top pick going early?

team wins all the games. some by a lot. some by a little.

some are a combo of good play and pure luck.

Yeah, ok..
Next year, we rebuild.
And HOPE for a decent bowl if we can get 7-8 wins.
Returning players are kinda important...

Herman inserts Brennan after Etling sustains a concussion while trying to run out of bounds on a busted pass play. Brennan is named the starting quarterback and goes on to break a string of LSU quarterback records. Aranda's #1 rated defense has been stifling all season. Especially the defensive line coached by Ed Orgeron.

Former coaches Peveto and Grimes salute the Tigers as they hoist the National Championship trophy. Purdue coach Les Miles comments, "Quality players sometimes I think don't come in second."

Definitely not a child, and fairly sure I'm not a moron.

You honestly think you can take a guy with bad accuracy, no ability to read defenses, and terrible pocket presence, and coach all of that into him so he can compete in the SEC?? Sure, he may improve somewhat in those areas with good coaching, but a player has to have a lot of that hard-wired into him.

Too many tough road games and the OL is still suspect. As much as I want to, I can't in good conscience make that argument. I think 9-3 is a good year next year, anything better is lagniappe.

offensive coordinator Art Briles

NOPE
You know, people may hate him as a man, but this LSU team running his offense, coupled with our current defense, would be a sight to behold. We could easily supplant Bama as the perennial national champs.

For all the people just writing LSU off saying we don't have a chance next year need to go take a look at the roster. Our defense will great next year and the receivers we have on the roster will make plays. Guice will make it easier for them. We just need a great offensive coordinator to develop the QB position. Hopefully Lowell Narcisse will redshirt 2017 to get 100% healthy and will make a strong case to be the starter in 2018.
