It's almost like you don't like seeing politically topical discussion threads on a political discussion board. That's pretty strange, but then again, you are pretty dull.

Glad you're finally caught up.

Next time, maybe read about it first before you try and use it as evidence. You won't sound so stupid.

Sure, here's a good quick summary from Gemini that'll give you the gist, and show that CleverUseNames post was absolute jibberish (did he really not know??? )

Democrats voted against the Republican-backed Stop Insider Trading Act (H.R. 7008) in September 2026 because they objected to bundled federal voter ID requirements and argued that the stock restrictions contained major loopholes.

Key reasons cited by Democrats and ethics groups include:

• Bundled Voter ID Provision ("Poison Pill"): Republicans attached federal voter identification requirements (elements of the SAVE Act) to the stock trading bill. Democrats opposed these voting rules, calling them a voter suppression tactic.

• No Outright Divestment: The bill only prohibited buying new individual public stocks, meaning lawmakers, spouses, and dependent children could still keep and profit from stocks they already owned.

• Exclusion of the Executive Branch: The legislation left out the President, Vice President, and Cabinet members, leading critics to label it an incomplete measure.

• Private Stock Loopholes: Democrats and watchdogs like the Campaign Legal Center argued that the bill allowed continued trading in private companies and certain investment vehicles.

You are REALLY simping for the dems voting lockstep to stop a bill taking action against what you tried to throw out as a gotcha because of the need to prove you are a citizen to vote? Using something that is required for practically every governmental encounter by the public? INCLUDING welfare benefits?

You limp wrists are an absolute clown show.

Your opinion (or mine for that matter) on the issue of Voter ID is irelevant. The fact of the matter is it's a hotly contested issue that's been political fodder for decades.

To try and slip that in a totally unrelated bill and then say "ha! they support insider trading!" is simply you telling on yourself.

I'm sorry you don't understand how anything works, that must be frustrating.

Oh nooooo!! They gotta prove they are a citizen to vote!!!! The hoooorrrooorrrrrrrrrrrr!!! Why do you propaganda sponges never complain you need an ID to enroll in government assistance since it's all because of "the poor".

So admittedly it stopped future insider trading and it didn't force Pelosi and crew to sell their current holdings? And you are buying that as a reason they voted against it? Because it didn't make themselves sell their holdings?

Exclusion of the Executive Branch: The legislation left out the President, Vice President, and Cabinet members, leading critics to label it an incomplete measure.

Did it prevent a future addition of the executive branch? Check Gemini on that. See what it says.

Private Stock Loopholes: Democrats and watchdogs like the Campaign Legal Center argued that the bill allowed continued trading in private companies and certain investment vehicles.

Private equity funds hold a small sliver compared to the 50 trillion plus of public equity. So you are that excuse hook line and sinker too.

Oh well... back to AI research for you!

Then why do they not slip in outrage for you, in your thought programming, the burden for poor people to provide an id for practically any encounter with government including welfare and other benefits?

Why is that not a "burden on the poor?"

So you're just gonna still pretend you don't how anything works? How does this help your arugment? Or are you jsut quietly accepting the whole "self own" thing was garbage and hoping nobody notices?

I swear, some of you need this board like toddlers need blankeys.

Judging by the left and their gross mismanagement of states and localities vs how I vote and how you continue to vote..... I think I got it down pat.

Again..... you are told to be outraged at voter ID. We get it: you cannot defy your commanded thoughts. When you get off that knee and raise your head from that bow... you have to comply. But I still want to know why there isn't a poor people exemption for needing to provide ID for everything government down to welfare. If it's suuuch a burden.

What is this nonsense?

How about a separate question just fpr you-

Are you in favor or do you oppose voter ID laws?

Dude I live in a voter ID state and have voted with ID every time as far back as I can remember. We probably agree on the issue. Go argue with your refrigerator.

But again, that's not the point at hand. You still haven't demonstrated any understanding of how anything works and why your "self own" post made no sense

(which is why you're trying your hardest to distract us with a voter ID debate)
