to think that Latz could be a seasoned closer when he hasn't seen any game action till the last game of the year is absurd.

oh well, it may be hard for him to get in the rotation next year, Poche Lange and Bain may be pretty set next year.
Latz is definitely more advanced than Bain. Latz was arguably our top pitcher in our recruiting class (that actually made it here), yes, even over Lange.

if Latz is deserving of a weekend role it would be interesting to see what happens. It is likely bain will fall to a relief role.

I guess a medical redshirt really doesn't matter in Latz's situation.
Especially when a regular red shirt will do.

If Latz is as good as everyone is saying than he is gone after the 2017 season.

He is gone after his 3rd year regardless of this year, yes.

yeah, but you still go through the RS process in case

Chinea isn't going anywhere. He's not near good enough in the field, and he can't hit a damn breaking ball to save his life. Stevie and Laird are up in the air as of now. It all depends if a team wants to take a chance on them early.

He may. It will be very very late though.

He'll go higher than you think.

If Chinea goes Top 10 rounds I'll eat my left foot, he has no position.

Bookmarked.
Not because I think he will... but if he does, I'm holding you to this.

I guess a redshirt would help but it doesn't mean much.

i hope we're not crying out for him a month from now...

Hope Jake is able to come back 100% for August

Very simple, Mac Marshall would have been out. The reason he left in the first place was because he was behind so many other pitchers. I believe he is the number 4 starter on his JC team.
He was our 4th or 5th best freshman pitcher so he knew it wouldn't even look good for his next year either.
If he had that kind of attitude, we really don't need him. We have had plenty of pitchers in the past who improved greatly as the year as gone on and jumped past many pitcher that they were behind at the start of the season.

That's some serious revisionist history.
If Marshall stays and Latz is healthy, those two are competing with Lange for the two weekend rotation spots. Those two were/are that good.
Godfrey is our midweek guy from the beginning while Norman and Bain provide bullpen depth.

He's basically not even pitching at Chipola. He has 30 IP all season and has thrown in like 2 games a total of 4 IP the last month and a half.
Anyone know if anything is wrong with him? He cant expected to be drafted very high if hes not even pitching right?
He had some kind of injury.
He's going to be a high draft pick this year.
