By the process of elimination, I am gonna assume these are coaching personnel?

"A bit ashamed" for 1-20 in last 7 SEC road series? Changes after the season? I know that means coaches but come on.

This. Yes, after this season some coaches will go, but isn't there something he can do NOW? The season isn't over yet. There are 4 very important SEC series coming up and he should be able to figure something out. I find it hard to believe and sad that a coach would give up on the season at this point and not at least try and fix something.

It is basically a towel being thrown in. I wouldnt look for any spark of life in this team for the remainder of the season. Game. Set. Match.

Mainieri isn't going to fire personnel in the middle of the season. Did you not read the quotes about how he said he still feels like we will make the SEC and NCAA tournament?

ETA: Well nevermind, it doesn't say that in the article, I just saw the interview on TV on WBRZ and he said the part about the SEC and NCAA.

He didn't say they were giving up on the season, just that he has evaluated the team and knows that there are problems that will be addressed after the season.....even if they finish the season on a run, would you still want everything to remain the same, coaching wise? To me it means its pretty much locked in that Javi is gone and Grewe could be

I'm anxious to see what type of roster turnover there is this off-season. If we have another high attrition off season, then there is a problem. We had 3 seniors last year and started this year with more new players than guys who had been on the team before.

Hey, geauxRuston, please post a link where Vandy out recruited LSU in baseball. I bet that you can't because LSU recruited a top ten class for the last couple of years. I would love to see the link that supports your statement. BTW, you won't find a link because you are a kid who spits out nothing but drivel.

It is hard to believe because it probably isn't true. I seriously doubt Mainieri is giving up; however, like others have said, by ruling out "giving up" it implies that he will be doing some staff cleaning after the season is over.

How likely is it that Mainieri is going to find an adequate replacement for his assistants in the middle of the season?

Here's the only support I need smartass. Since 2007, (Paul Mainieri's first year) only one of LSU's players have made it to the big leagues, Louis Coleman, (and that was last week). Vanderbilt has sent David Price, Pedro Alvarez, and Mike Minor. LSU's "top ten class for the last couple of years" has a record of 65-39, 18-30 SEC.

I like how people conveniently forget about players we sign getting drafted and not even stepping foot on campus.

Still, LSU gets as much talent to campus as anyone in the conference.

Jared Mitchell might have made it by now had he not been injured. Not to mention quite a few in the minors with a decent chance to make it to the majors (Renaudao, DJ, Landry, Schimpf, Dean, Gibbs)
