If everything in this thread is true, then it amounts to the worst jobbing a recruit has ever slapped on this program. In which case, I feel more than justified in echoing the sentiment expressed by many here: frick this kid. Sideways. With a 2x4.
No shite, is this guy still in Baton Rouge? If so I hope someone beats his arse. Its bullshite that he can take up a spot on the roster then after a month of school haul arse because he is a pussy that can't handle the big time. No guts, fricking over the coaches and team.

I wont ever say this. I'm disappointed but, in end we all do what is best for US. he wanted to be drafted, didn't get a deal because the Astros are idiots and he found a way to get to the pros 2 yrs earlier....wish him luck
I'm sorry, but I can't feel this way about it.
If everything put forth here is true then this punk dealt with Mainieri and the LSU program in an extremely dishonest manner. And he left, as someone else pointed out, AFTER his scholarship couldn't be reallocated.
I certainly won't wish injury on him, or anything like that. I just hope his career ends in Low A ball for lack of being able to get anybody out. I don't think wishing Steve Blass Disease on him is any too harsh.

even if his parents are "LOADED" as you say.. and it's not a money issue. if someone offered you a way to get the job you really wanted 2 years earlier than you would at your current pace...wouldn't you do it?

This is well known, not "As I say"

Not at the expense of completely fricking over someone who offered me a spot on the best damn college baseball team in America. It's completely unethical and I hope they figure out a way to stop this kind of shite from happening.
If you pull this kind of stuff you should be forced to be ineligible for the draft until 2 years later, not next year.

With the reduced number of scholarships this is a grazing of the LSU baseball sack.

Ever had your sack grazed? That shite hurts.
Not like a full on kick in the nuts, of course. But it DOES hurt.

He had a chance to be in the MLB this year as opposed to 2 years earlier. This is not how you handle it. Take the 1 million offered in the draft and go MLB if that is the end goal. Thank LSU for the offer and be done in June. Don't "commit" and undercut like a supreme crawfishing bitch when that opportunity of a spot on LSU's baseball team could have gone to someone who truly wanted to be at LSU.

Not only commit, but sign and ENROLL IN SCHOOL and mid-way through the fall semester decide "nah I'd rather have an entire fanbase pissed off at me because I didnt get what i wanted".
I really hope this all backfires on him and his draft stock plummets and he ends up with a shitty deal next year, he deserves it for pulling this shite.
MORE than 1 kid could have came in for him who absolutely wanted to be here because im pretty sure we offered this joke a full scholarship.

The NCAA should not even allow this to happen IMO.
NCAA?

My guess is they make them ineligible for a year.
Make a law that states if you sign with a school and you transfer before the first full year is completed you have to sit out regardless of where you go.

Like I said, Steve Blass Disease.
As in, can't find the plate with a flashlight and a GPS.

If somome offered you a job........
Not if I wasn't absolutely guaranteed a job in the main office! No fricking way I take the job knowing I might get sent to do shite work.

I didn't think the NCAA governs JUCOs. Maybe I'm missing something.

There is a NJCAA.
How closely the two entities work together, I couldn't say.

What possible personal situation would Mac need to leave to try and go JUCO for a year then pro?
It might be a situation where he has no interest in actually going to class.
Posted on 9/27/14 at 8:41 am to Godfather1
Well said. He will get his. Karma always seems to keep these types of situations in balance. Janzen Jackson is one that comes to mind.
Posted on 9/27/14 at 9:01 am to dj30
This is my thought exactly... He doesn't want to be in school. If that's the case it could become an eligibility issue down the line with him anyway.

went to class for a few weeks and was like "frick this shite, I'm out."
probably failed a test or some bullshite.

A guy of his caliber on the baseball team.. why wasn't he getting "help?" He shouldn't really have to go to class.
