aiken is going to get 5.5, nix is going to get 1.5 and mac is coming to LSU

That would give Mac at least 1.5 in available funds.

I prefer Aiken to get 5,999,999 just to be safe.

Best outcome if it happens.

I may need therapy after today no matter what happens.

The Astros have the money for all 3. They are currently being idiots. .. again.
No, they don't. They only can sign Nix and Marshall if Aiken signs a cheaper deal.
Aiken signs for:
1) $6.5 Million (original agreement)- then Astros sign Nix & lose Marshall
2) $5.0 Million - then the Astros sign Nix and have a very good chance of signing Marshall
3) $3.4 - $4.5 Million (latest offer reported after bum elbow news) - Astros sign both Nix & Marshall
That's my guesses and, of course, if the Astros don't sign Aiken then they lose both Nix & Marshall.
Both Nix & Marshall want to be overpaid for their draft position. Astros can only overpay them if someone else, Aiken in this case, gets underpaid for his position. So they don't have the money to just sign all three. The MLB draft doesn't work that way.
I know that's been covered dozens of times in this thread, but there it is again for those of you that think the Astros can just throw their money where they want.

Someone needs to go stake out the baseball offices and see if Mainieri starts doing cartwheels in the parking lot.
