Marshall never told the Astros how much he wanted and the Astros agree to give it to him. Different scenario.

@DellengerAdv: .@aaronfitt also reports Astros contacted Marshall last wk & asked him to drive in for physical, but his price tag ($1.5M) had risen #LSU
@DellengerAdv: Heard part of this, but from @aaronfitt reports that Astros offered Marshall $1M on draft day, but he wanted $1.5M. #LSU
Almost...

He's really invested in the Astros.

I said give a number and the Astros agree to it.
I literally feel like I'm talking to a brick wall

Id say at this point he is rooting for us to lose marshall
Posted on 7/15/14 at 4:07 pm to msutiger
Well obviously no agreement was made between them or he wouldn't be on campus working out with the team.
Posted on 7/15/14 at 4:08 pm to msutiger
So you could have just said they hadn't agreed to a number and left out the first part.

Which is exactly my point.
Nix lost his leverage when he said what he wanted and the Astros gave it to him.

They may have agreed on a number but no contract was signed by Nix/Stros, so he has every right to raise his number as Mac does (which he apparently has).

And we're the only ones in this thread biased.

I'll give you $7.9 to STFU.

Based on the Aiken-Nix drama right now, I would think Marshall's number is $2 million.
Posted on 7/15/14 at 4:14 pm to ell_13
We often forget we're talking about 17-18 year old kids, dealing with large amounts of money. Crazy things can happen.
Posted on 7/15/14 at 4:14 pm to AstroTiger
He has a right to do it, but the Astros aren't just going to start from scratch because more money appeared. There was still extra money left after Aiken had agreed for 6.5 and Nix had agreed.
Why didn't he ask for more money then?
