I was optimistic about Aiken a few days ago but this is getting really really ugly.
There's going to need to be some serious fence mending in the next couple of days that's for sure.

I don't know about you, but I'm not talking to anyone for less than $3.5.
That's just me though.

I'll play baseball for $2m. Where do I sign?

I think you're doing a lot of speaking for these kids.

You're so cheap. I'm disgusted.

The Astros will call his bluff and tell him to take what we agreed or walk.
quote:Means absolutely nothing.
They have him over a million over slot already. He told them what he wanted and they gave it to him.

which he obviously doesn't want since he agreed in the first place.

I wouldn't settle for less than 5. Anything less would be selling out.

I'd sign up with the sole intent to overtake Craig Biggio as #1 on the HBP list for $1 mill.

Look, say what you want. The Astros WILL call his bluff. You see what's going on with Aiken and I can promise you they value him way more than Nix.
I don't know what world you are living in where you think the Astros are going to play hardball with Aiken but say "Oh hey Nix, you want more money after we had an agreement? Sure, here's 500K"
The Astros have plans for the money they are saving on Aiken.
I know your hope is that Nix takes enough money away so the Astros don't have the money for Marshall, but you can give that dream up.

The Astros will tell Nix to walk. It's as simple as that.
It is HIGHLY unlikely that he would do that. It would make no sense on his part.

To go play collegiate baseball on scholarship on the beach around southern California co-eds. And then again be eligible for the draft a few years later.
Yeah, makes no sense at all. What an idiot. I'd never take that life.
