Luke Hill had a .938 fielding percentage with 15 errors and Jordan Thompson had a .924 fielding percentage with 17 errors this past season just to put that in perspective for you

And he hit .317 which is better than .246!

I really hate to say this, but if he is dead set on playing INF, I don't think we have room for him. Hopefully he's like a Beloso or Dugas and says, I want to compete and I want to be a Tiger, and I'm fine wherever I'm needed. He could definitely come and compete and maybe grab one of those spots, but similar to what I said about Chase Burns, this is LSU and we're not just giving out starting positions here.

I would much rather have hill at short and braswell and 2nd because nippolt can’t hit and Guidry is unproven

So he bats better than Thompson and fields better and we don’t have room for him?
Explain

He grew up in BR and is a lifelong LSU fan. He was in Omaha wearing LSU gear. His last name could be Shortstop and I still think that kid would pick LSU if given the opportunity.

Then why did he turn down LSU to go to Arizona State? Not trying to run the kid but just curious. He obviously is good enough to compete.

All I’ll say is there was an issue with Dugas during recruiting prior to freshman year. I’m not even sure why. Had he have joined team Dugas was transferring. Dugas’ parents made the threat. Was told to wait until he graduated and could transfer if he chose to. He’s supposed to be LSU bound sophomore season. I know the kid and family well.

oh, ok. The article I read online from when he committed said “He has chosen ASU over LSU.” I assumed that meant he had offers from both.

.317 might be better than .246 but is it really when .317 was in the PAC-12?

Maybe not. Several of the incoming freshen are not expected to start their first year. At least one could be groomed for 3rd base next year.

LSU already picked up Braswell SS from SC in the portal. Hill is not switching to 2B. Although he is a lifelong tiger fan, he just wants to play in the SEC. I would look for him at other schools where there is an immediate opening at SS.
