Yeah, this is pretty much the list but in no particular order. Hard to argue that this shouldn't be the top 5. Tittle played in an era that was so very different that it's hard to really compare, but there's no denying his success at the pro level.

Hodson and Bert Jones are battling for 1 and 2. everybody else is behind that.

This is a stretch. His insane talent was obvious but often didnt match his play. Very frustrating. He'd miss an easy pass and then follow it up with an amazing one.

was good (never spectacular) for half of one season and mostly just against crappy defenses. He got paid well bc he played against ND's defense in that bowl game.

I'll go with this list. If Russell comes back for his SR. season he's #1.

I don't disagree. But I still think JJ was a good QB. I'd say about #7 on the list. After all, he won The Game of the Century.

I understand + agree he led LSU past Alabama in Tuscaloosa 2011.

Wow, your memory is fuzzy. Russell's final year stats:

232-342
67.8%
3129 yards
9.1 Y/A
28 TD
8 INT
167.0 Rating

Virtually all of these stats would be near the very top of college QBs nationally.

Russell was a complete bust in the NFL, but was indeed fantastic at LSU. Really hard to deny that.

I can't believe how ignorant some of our fans are on JRuss.

I guess I'll post it again....
JAMARCUS RUSSELL'S 2006 SEASON AND IT'S PLACE IN LSU HISTORY

Passing yards= 2nd most in lsu history
Passing tds= 1st in lsu history
Completions=1st in lsu history
Completion %= 1st in lsu history
Jamarcus Russell's career at lsu
Compiled a 25-4 mark as LSU’s starting quarterback ... The 25 wins ties with Warren Rabb as the third-highest total in LSU history ... Ranked second all-time at LSU in career completion percentage (61.9) and career touchdown passes (52) ... Also ranks third in career completions (493) and career passing yards (6,625) and fourth in career attempts (797) ... Is just the fourth player in school history to go over the 6,000 yard mark in total offense (6,704 yards) ... Capped career ranked No. 3 in school history with 6,704 yards of total offense, just one yard shy of tying Jeff Wickersham for second place in school history ... Only the fourth quarterback in LSU history to pass for over 6,000 yards .

Please continue to tell us how he played well for half a season.

Do you remember how hyped people were with RP after the seccg?
Do you remember how hyped people were when JJ played that GA tech game?
Do you remember how hyped people were when Harris made that comeback against Miss St?
Do you remember how hyped people were when Etling maneuvered in the pocket against JSU?

Yep, just ask Al Davis who sold out his organization to take him #1 overall.

JRock's 2006 season is arguably the greatest in school history. He would have absolutely destroyed the record books if he played on that 2007 team. People let the success/failure of the player in the NFL cloud their memories of the player's college careers.

This. I've heard people argue Flynn was better than Russell. Sure, JR was a bit inconsistent but he was also battling a bad offensive line and bad play calling. The offense averaged about two yards per carry against Auburn and Florida. People forget the 2007 team also lost two games.

Russell had Jimbo coach him. Crowton calling plays WITH 2 FIRST ROUND PICKS AT RECEIVER!

Look at the defense that constantly gave him. The ball. We were LOADED. Most talent ever on a team for a single year was the 2006 team.

Don't judge someone like YA or Bert by that useless stats because it wasn't 2 runs and a pass like it was during their times by their respective coaches.

. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? SMH.
You. Didn't watch football or were too young to remember the NFL talent on those teams. Go look at 2005 & 6 who called those plays.
