One thing that I don't think has been talked about is how well it sets up for our team to grow and develop. I know people have talked about the possibility of being 7-0 going into November and that's great but that's not what I mean. The biggest thing holding us back at this point is lack of experience in certain spots like QB, which is huge.

That said, if we get by Auburn this week, we're in great shape all the way into November and by that point guys like KT2, Clapp, BH, Maea, Key, Donte Jackson, and lots of other guys are going to be battle tested and salty. These 6 weeks are going to be ample time to see some of these guys (BH included) really blossom and I can't wait to watch it happen.

Our lack of experience at a couple key spots (qb in particular) is no doubt concerning, but I just don't think that'll be the thing that holds us back 6 weeks from now. Just my $.02.

That's hoping that CLM doesn't blow that one annual game to a lesser opponent

Yeah there is not one team after auburn and before bama that can beat LSU. Florida has walk on's on their offensive line, no QB and it's at home. South Carolina may lose 8 games. Syracuse is Syracuse and the others are cupcakes

Sure. 2006 was the exception
2005 Tenn
2007 Kentucky
2008 Arkansas
2009 Ole Miss
2010 Arkansas
2011 Bama 1/9/12
2012 Florida
2013 Ole Miss
2014 Arkansas

I hope that helps

It's better when idiots out themselves in threads so you know there's no point arguing and they've made themselves look dumb on their own.

He named Alabama a team that in most people's mind top 10 of all time. But that's a annual loss to a lesser opponent. Haha boy the rant is full of idiots day in and day out. Have a clue people

It baffles me how people are quick to defend CLM because of the Bama game, yet have nothing against to say about the other 8. So let me correct this for you.
In 8 out of his 10 previous seasons CLM has lost a game to a lesser opponent. 8 out of 10= 80%

LSU/Bama were like 1a/1b in 2011.

quote:

2005 Tenn

Tennessee was ranked #10. It was Miles' first home game ever at LSU and a few weeks after a hurricane turned South Louisiana upside down.

quote:

2010 Arkansas

Arkansas was ranked #12. We were #6.

quote:

2012 Florida

Florida was ranked #10.

So you included several losses to top 10 teams. Strong argument there, chief.

4 of the games you listed were in the top 10 when we played them - Tenn in 2005, Florida both times and Bama in the title game. Arkansas was #12 one of those years so hardly that much lesser an opponent.

Kentucky was ranked 17th but I'll give you that one because we were #1 and should have beaten them.

Laying an egg against an unranked team is hard to defend but you can't realistically expect LSU to win every time we play a team ranked in the top 10 just because we are the higher ranked team.

Where did they finish at. frick preseason positioning. The were bad teams at the end of the season

Florida wasn't. They still were very talented from Meyer. We had so many injuries across the oline.

2010 Arkansas was an epic failure by chavis, Arkansas played in the Sugar Bowl. Hardly a bad team.

Those were not the preseason ranks. Those were the rankings when we played those teams.

Also, are you going to argue Bama was a bad team when we played them for the title game?

Florida 2012 played in Sugar Bowl at year's end. Ditto for 2010 Arkansas.

In every season exept last season Bama is a lesser opponent. frick Bama and you for trying to raise them up. We should beat them at least every other fricking year if not 2 out of 3. It's our coaches fault

2005 Tenn -- Lesser opponent but ridiculous extenuating circumstances surrounding that game.
2007 Kentucky -- Agreed, bad loss to a lesser opponent.
2008 Arkansas -- Agreed here too.
2009 Ole Miss -- Disagree. They were about equal to us and it was a 2-point game. Bad ending with clock management, but not a loss to a lesser opponent.
2010 Arkansas -- They went 10-2 and went to the Sugar Bowl, not a lesser opponent.
2011 Bama 1/9/12 -- You have to be joking here.
2012 Florida -- They went 11-1 in the regular season with the only loss a game they gave away to Georgia, not a lesser opponent.
2013 Ole Miss -- Agreed on this one. Mett had his worst game and "2 minutes with Chavis" bit us in the butt.
2014 Arkansas -- By the time we played them, they were actually pretty good. Not sure what happened in the offseason, though.

So I agree with three out of your nine, four if you don't cut him a break for 2005 Tennessee, which would be unreasonable.
