I am so tired of the Greg Maddux comments lol. It's like saying "stop trying to hit home runs and striking out! Tony Gwynn barely struck out!"

It’s the “Justin Jefferson was a 2*” argument.

Greg Maddox and Randy Jones say hi. Almost everyone throws hard today. It’s about location and movement.

if it was just about location and movement teams wouldn’t chase velocity.

It’s about velocity, location and movement.

Someone saying that it's about movement and not velocity is unfamiliar with the relationship between movement and velocity.

No, they don't. Top to bottom gas is not like that on almost every SEC team. Ludicrous assertion.

Some are similar? Sure.

Having 3-4 guys who can throw mid 90s from the left side is just something so surreal to me. Go back 10 years and having just 1 guy throw mid 90s from the left side was considered a premium in college I bet

2 of them should throw a ton of innings too. Not sure what we see from Primeaux and Williams this year but maybe Primeaux gets a bit more than 3.2 IP from last year as a matchup lefty guy out the pen in year 3. I liked the summer he had in the Cape.

Nope. Maybe 2-3 programs can match that.

Velocity buys you a lot of location mistakes.

A softer thrower can be successful, but their margin for error is razor thin.

Someone like prime Barry Zito with that ridiculous curveball could compete in any era, but would likely not be a star by today's standards.

Conversrely, there have been plenty of flame throwers who were flash in the pan or plain bad because of control issues.

Throwing hard is probably the biggest factor in being successful today because it sets up so many more options

I personally have the cell phone numbers of every head coach and recruiting coordinator in the SEC in my phone... I promise you 96 grows on trees on every SEC roster. 6'8 lefty at Odessa junior college hit 96 on the gun 15 times this past weekend... he couldnt make it on Missouri's roster... Ark and TAMU are waiting on him for next season...

I don’t really care who’s number you have

Pitchers throwing 96 /=/ almost every SEC team having a roster of pitchers like LSU’s and more

Are you confusing Bryson Leblanc the Missouri asst. coach and Bryce Leblanc the Odessa freshman?

Or in some weird world did Bryce Leblanc enroll at Mizzou this past fall, under coach Bryson Leblanc, and then transferred to JUCO this semester?
