re: LSU's Les Miles conflicted over quarterbacks

I don't agree. I think Miles' conflict is that he wants JENNINGS to separate himself so that he can stubbornly keep his seasoned guy in there, ala JJ. Brandon Harris is never going to get a fair shot at being the starter, in spite of what he does. That's his conflict.

I think Miles is literally dying for BH to step up and take the job.
"Literally" means "not figuratively". It means he's actually going to be dead soon. Miles is not literally dying.

We better figure out the QB situation before Miss St game.
Right sentiment; wrong game. Miss State graduated almost everyone. They were a senior-laden team last year. They are going to suck, and we can beat them with last year's team.

Miles again praised freshman wide receiver D.J. Chark of Alexandria Senior High on the SEC spring teleconference as he did throughout spring drills. "D.J. was very strong all spring," he said. … Miles also said offensive lineman K.J. Malone of Cedar Creek High in Ruston had "a big spring."
Miles has a tendency to praise guys who are not going to see playing time. I'm guessing these are good program players who he wants to encourage now that they know they're not going to be in the rotation. There's been a lot of noise, though, about Chark.

All Harris has to do is step up and take it. If he can't put in the work, show up early, and know the plays, it's his own fault if he sits.
There have been too many reports of this to be just a myth.

You can tell Les wants Harris to earn the job so bad. Step your game up Brandon!

If Miles was as dedicated to Jennings as many say, he would just say "we have a returning starter that is showing great improvement and second year QB that is making him earn his spot." We all know how much higher Harris' ceiling is, he just needs to raise the floor to average. He does that and we might not lose a game.

Harris Has A LOT of work to do. I believe he knows the plays. His issues are far more than knowing the play book. He doesn't trust the plays/offense. He tries to play sand lot ball and make up something as the ball is snap. Runs around when there is a well developed pocket. (he runs into trouble)
He also doesn't have a clue where to go with the ball prior to the ball being snapped. He can't line up, look at the defense and say to himself, I have to throw to z receiver because the safety is giving help to y wr.
he can't read a corner blitz or lb blitz for that matter and check into a different blocking scheme to make a successful play.
Harris is extremely talented. however, that is all he has at this point. When lsu has superior talent to the team they play, he shines. when the talent is equal, he wilts. That's because he hasn't studied what is happening before the ball is snapped and what do before the ball snapped.

he hasn't studied? like... at all?
man, we might be in serious trouble.

This alone tells me we are screwed.
In other words ... the same shite-show situation we witnessed last season ... still exists.
Typical par for the course with CLM.

We run the ball 80% of all plays.
What a terrible thing to have to do. I mean, we only have Fournette and a bunch of other scrubs to handle the load.

And meanwhile AJ has excelled at all of this.

I heard Rabalais offer up the most ridiculous explanation re: the QB's after listening to the conference call.
AJ10 starts because he's the most consistent. Harris has shown it in practice but he's got to show it in games. Yet he doesn't get in for game action because of how Les Miles refuses to play backups until extremely late, and by that time, the base offense is out and clock-burn calls are in. Which prevents Harris from showing it in games.
It's a ridiculous explanation because using that system, no QB at LSU will ever overtake another. Makes zero sense if you truly want to have a QB competition.

I have never, ever, ever heard, not once, anyone whatsoever give any indication of this except on tiger droppings. There's never been a link posted, no interviews with coaches or players. In fact most of the reports we get are the opposite. It's completely fabricated, made-up BS.
