What if Davis-Price fumbled to give Arkansas another chance?

Brings back memories of Stevan Ridley fumbling with about a minute to go in the 2010 UNC game in Atlanta. The Tarheels almost pulled out a win after recovering that fumble.

My God you're stupid. They had three knees to run off 4 seconds. Try harder.

Yep. And everyone always gave Les a pass on the constant clock mismanagement until it finally cost us a game. Then those same people lost their shite.

Yesterday was not Orgeron's best day as far as clock management goes with how he failed to use timeouts in the best way before half in scoring position. But he has been good with clock management overall as the head coach. Yesterday was definitely an off day there though.

I would bet that was Ensminger’s call.

No way.

The head coach decides whether to go into victory formation or to run a normal formation/play.

Once Steve is instructed to call a play, he called a run up the middle.

Three kneel downs wouldnt take 4 seconds? Some of the crap you read on this board is frightening.

Let me try to help you since, clearly, you're not very smart. There was 1:24 on the clock or 84 seconds. Arkansas had one timeout. That means they could only stop the clock once. Which meant LSU could use the full 40 second play clock TWICE. That means 80 seconds. Which means they only had to run off 4 seconds on THREE kneel downs. You cant possibly think you could take three kneel downs in less than 4 seconds? Well, maybe you could after reading your posts.

Sure you can delay the kneel and try to burn those 4 seconds... with a freshman QB.

The subsequent kneels also also would have burned extra seconds. If the play clock is managed correctly you need to burn 4 extra seconds, at worst, with three knees.

Handed it off unnecessarily against Auburn last year when all they had to do was take a knee. It shouldnt be that hard to figure out.

Don't need your help.

If you aren't 100% in victory formation mode and have some time to burn AND there is a clock stoppage you run a play with your best ball handler. You do not rely on a freshman QB to burn any seconds. Period.

The chances for fumble between your best ball handler and anyone else if you are burning time is the defining factor. Period. Has always been that way.

V-Formation and kneeling is ONLY used when you DON'T have seconds to burn. 4, 20, 8, 9.9 seconds... it doesn't matter. If you are burning any seconds, you put the ball in the best guys hands and run a play.

You’re incorrectly assuming that snapping the ball and putting your knee on the ground doesn’t run any time.

ETA: We’re talking about 4 extra seconds, not 25.

we do need a strategic advisor or something. Some math/chess nerd that can help with these basic strategic in game situations. None of the old fogies we have seem to have a knack for that sorta thing.

I don't give a FLUCK what blair,Gordy, dale brown, and the ghost of cholly mac said. There where 80 seconds left and arKANSAS had one timeout 1st & 10 LSU. Stevie wonder can see that you kneel 3 times and go home. But keep chuckling at me. The nyg offensive coordinator got fired the day after the miracle at the Meadowlands because he ran regular plays and allowed the Eagles to steal a win.

I don't care who it's "on". It was a foolish, unnecessary gamble. It ultimately rests on Orgeron imho, though.

That team was absolutely loaded, and Ed deserves credit for assembling it.

I’m pretty sure most of the players that left committed to Les Miles as head coach in 2016 and were part of the 2017 class.

There were 80 seconds left 1st and 10 LSU, arKANSAS has one timeout. You kneel, 78 seconds left, arky out of tos. You kneel, 76 seconds goes to less than 40 (but they ALWAYS let a couple more off before starting the 40). You kneel, there are now LESS THAN 40 seconds left, game over. Our coaching staff does not comprehend this. THAT is a problem.
