late of course.

Our chances of getting there for the SEC championship are probably about 1 in 6, IMO.

better chance of late, but anything can happen

This LSU team could certainly defeat LSU, Alabama, and Texas A&M. Winning out would ensure LSU a spot in the SEC Title Game.

I think we win out, beat GA in Atlanta, and win the NC. People have jumped to conclusions about the Chief, saying our D personnel sucks, WRONG ! They are young, and GA is a great offensive team.

GA has scored 123 points against 3 top 10 teams. Our D will get better, I really believe this.

I'm gonna sit back and enjoy, I was more worried about GA then Bama and ATM, watch Mett & Company destroy the rest of our opponents.

no, it just means we're not as good as we have been. it's a matter of degree. the negatigers are way too far on the chicken little end of the spectrum.

bfniii, sorry but you make no sense
we'll agree to disagree. I think lsu's d is good enough to keep us in every game but, we're going to give up lots of yards and points in the process. we're going to need some special teams points for sure.

If anyone thinks LSU won't be in every remaining game this season, well...frick you, then.

I think they'll be in every game, I just hope for a turnaround. Objectively, we seemed destined for real bad season after Florida. It turned around on the O-line. Hopefully something happens with the defense. It's hard for me to look at this team and say we can beat Bama. Possible? Sure. Giving up huge game losing drives on a semi regular is not a good characteristic and it's happened now with Bama, Clemson, and UGa.

If we lose to Bama, why would bowls want us more than Bama, A&M, or UGa? The SEC won't help us out. UGa/Bama will go Cap One. A&M to Cotton or Cap One. Last year all over UNLESS we beat Bama. Maybe Outback?

You have to be more subtle, man. Although the rantards will probably take the bait.

I am going to guess that Denham Springs is home to a plethora of Nobel Prize winners.

BTW plethora = overabundance

i.e. a whole lot.

LSU's chance of getting to Atlanta is no better or worse than on last Friday; just like I said in the earlier thread. They still control their own destiny, just like Bama and Ga. Your margin for error is a bit thinner is all. Win out and your in. Four SEC teams have separated themselves from everyone else thus far and all four teams have played very competitive, high scoring games where little defense was played, except for the middle part of Bama/AM leading up to the middle fourth quarter where AM went full retard for 5-6 minutes.

well, let me be the 1st non-pussy defeatist in this thread

It is not being a defeatist with the way our defense is playing!!! It is unfortunately being a realist!!

I wish there was a better way to look at it but it is pretty simple, if our defense doesn't improve dramatically no way we get to Atlanta for the SEC Championship. Beating Bama & A&M back to back will be our downfall. We will lose to one "if not both" without our defense playing sound football. I don't think they need to be dominant with the way our offense is playing, but they need to play sound football, which they are not.

LSU's Chances of Getting to Atlanta ...
= Meh. Suspect D and running game. At this point, not championship caliber IMO.

Alabama and eATMe are the big hurdles, both easily capable of beating the Tigers.

I'm expecting LSU to lose both. Now, if they win I'll be ecstatic but I won't be too disappointed if they show up with no appreciable improvements in defense and running game.

Realist: hope for the best but expect the worst.

But I'll still be watching regardless.

Suspect D and running game

I could understand not being able to run the ball last year when our opponents didn't have to worry about our passing attack (until the Bama game), but what's the excuse this year? We have a huge offensive line with a ton of experience. We should be blowing people off the line of scrimmage. Instead, we're struggling to open holes against even mediocre defenses.

Doesn't matter what our chances are to win out.

Right now, we still control our own destiny, and that will continue each week that we win.

Few teams still control their destiny right now.

As long as we find a way to win, our defense can keep getting better.

Just win baby, and get better every week.

If LSU goes to the Chick Bowl, our worst matchup would be FSU.
