Garidel all day. Dude went yatzee every time he got a chance to bat too.

Gibbs may be the best with the glove I have ever seen at the college level.
You never saw Taylor Teagarden?

I'd go Osik if he qualifies as recent past (not really I guess). But didn't he play all 9 positions one game? That's pretty impressive.

Hymel, Osik, Gibbs, Cresse...the rest. Don't you dare put Liuzza anywhere near the top 5. He couldn't throw a runner out to save his life. Second base was like a turn style with him behind the plate. His hitting got weaker as the years went on.

Very overshadowed by Cresse, but Jorgensen was very good as well. Spider Man

Micah Gibbs - no contest.

you are thinking of someone else.
i think he had 1 bad year throwing out runners. Our pitchers couldnt hold runners on for shite that year. It was an on going problem
prob the best defensive catcher in recent memory at LSU besides Jorgensen

Jorgensen made it to the majors but he could never unseat Cresse because of Brad's offense.

sounds like Doc Lanier

Ryan Jorgensen seems like a forgotten man.

Believe he's thinking of Matt Heath, who couldn't throw out a runner to save his life.
Best defensive catcher Jorgensen.
Best offensive catcher Cresse.
Best all around catcher Gibbs
Best defensive catcher Jorgensen.
Best offensive catcher Cresse.
Best all around catcher Gibbs

speaking of this, I hope Dunn can teach our guys to do this a little more effectively, we haven't been good about it the last couple years

Lester you are right, I was thinking of Heath. My bad.
Posted on 6/27/11 at 3:03 pm to susanfoster
Brad Cresse is the only correct answer.
Posted on 6/27/11 at 3:06 pm to CajunFootball
Cresse was great with the bat but was very mediocre defensively. Gibbs and Hymel imo were easily the best all around.
Posted on 6/27/11 at 3:11 pm to Geauxld Finger
Heath was pretty poor behind the plate but that guy was a bulldog and hated the piss out of USL and that is why he and Aaron Hill will always be two of my favorite players.
