I was standing next to the scoreboard at South endzone with my brother and will never forget when they called out the names of the tv announcers. When they said Ara Parseghian's name, the roar of anger was so strong the cement was shaking. The generational anger for that Notre Dame coach was palpable. I later asked my dad what that hatred was all about and he got hostile telling about what that coach said about playing LSU in Baton Rouge,
.. something about inbred ingrates or something like that. He should not have bit the tail of that Tiger,...

My first game in Tiger Stadium, with great seats, complimentary of then Senator David Ginn.

Tigers started off strong but could never pull away from the Buckeyes. It seemed like the Tigers dominated, but mistake after mistake turned it into a nailbiter at the end.

That interception at the goal line hurt my soul. It almost made me wish I hadn't watched it to the end.

Pretty sure this was the 13-13 game and Ohio St. missed a long FG at the buzzer that would have won it.

I was only 10 at the time and it was the 1st 'big' game I'd ever seen in Tiger Stadium. It was also the 1st game in Tiger Stadium that I ever attended that LSU didn't win.

I had slept over at a friend's house the night before and we were riding bikes the next morning as my dad was trying to find us (he had just been given two tickets). We got there just in time for kickoff and it was the 1st time I ever felt that pre-game 'electricity' in the stadium.

The purple jersey should be worn more often.

tom tupa wanted the crowd to be quiet, we got louder as the sec child molester referees delayed the game due to crowd noise... Eric hill almost killed their running back after play resumed.

Back when fans stayed till the end. Back when you only needed 83k stadium to make a bunch of noise.

Yes, and I can still remember hearing Tom Tupa punt the ball. When it came off of his foot it sounded like a cannon. He wasn't that great of a QB but he punted in the NFL for a while.

Was there. Sat behind the painted faces guys (shows them after Magee's first score) and yes, Archie G, the two time Heisman winner was also in our section.

Everyone knows the pregame stuff...

That loss HURT. We were 4 and Auburn tied that same day. We would have been 3 behind OU and Nebraska...two teams who would eventually play.

Alabama took all the "woulda shoulda" away when they beat us without Hodson.

That Ohio State team finished 6-5, lost to Indiana at home, and fired Bruce after he couldn't finish off Michigan.

And then? Next year? frick Carlos Snow.

oh God, I wish you wouldn't have prompted that memory... Mike Archer laughs at all the Miles and O bumbling criticism.

Up 33-20 with under 5 to go. Lost 36-33, giving up not only 2 TDs, but an intentional safety along the way (just to further demoralize the team).
We took the safety "for field position", then gave up a huge runback on the free kick.

Those 2 games spawned my hatred of Ohio State. Nebraska had beaten us in the trenches, and while that was bad, it was worse losing to an arrogant Buckeyes team we should have beaten twice.

Ohio State actually fired Bruce before the Michigan game. Which OSU ended up winning and the players carried Earle off the field.

Ohio State put pressure on Tom Hodson on that play forcing a slightly early throw without complete balance from a hurried QB. Watch film.

Tupa goes under center for the first play and can't hear a thing, steps back an looks at the ref, and the place gets even louder. The sound had a physical weight to it. Unreal.
Long gone are those days. Well, not so long ago.

LSUAD (Combined with mediocre football) has totally ruined it.

Corporate Tickets. See and be Seen. Wine & Cheese. Day Games. PIM Golf/Tennis crowd atmosphere for the majority of most games. First half of big SEC games an exception. Only Bama for full game.

I was a freshman, living in Hatcher dorm, right next to the stadium. We went back to my dorm at half, cuz my date was more interested in extra-carricular action.
