ND's special teams are average i would say. They have a pretty good punter, but their coverage is so-so. Same goes for KO's. Their field goal kicker is pretty good, missed a couple early, but i would feel pretty good if he needs to kick a game winner. Their return game is where they stink on special teams. Can usually get to the 20-25 on KO's, but nothing on punts - very frustrating

Our QB play has been hard to figure out. He seems to be a50% passer to matter how good or bad the team is

Brandon Wimbush healthy looked dynamic, cohesive & powerful versus Michigan State. (even all American)

he can look like that, i just can't figure out why he can't maintain that. i want to just chalk it up to inexperience, as a first year starter. But he has been at ND for 3 years now. There is a learning curve to being a starter compared to scout team, but some of the things he has done... just make me think that its coaching. ND has a questionable QB Coach (Reese). It really seems like he is playing worse now then we he started the year.

Now, he has faced a Gauntlet of good defenses and teams, so maybe is just a steeper learning curve.

Thanks for posting, always nice to see the opposing fans on here. We have had some fun posts from Syracuse & Wisconsin fans in the past. SEC rival fans aren't as welcome as OOC fans. That's because they are usually a bunch of douches.
Hopefully, we will get to watch a great game, some good sportsmanship, and as always, a Tiger Victory.
Both teams seem to have fallen victim to a couple of bad games this year, but ND's schedule was tougher than ours every year, so maybe they weren't as bad as ours, lol.

Our strength is our defense, but our offense is getting better. Switching to a new OC and offense, it just took longer to fully employ than expected. We are still not as far along as I would have liked, but with the injuries and juggling of the OL, QB arm strength and a few other deficiencies, it still is explosive.

I bet if you ask either fan base who has the better coaching staff, the other team's coaches will be the answer. It's apparent that BK has a better record than Coach O, but I bet we got the best cook, shrimper, fisherman, hunter, and most mimicked coach in the country.

Here's to great game and lots of fun for the fans of both teams,

And to quote the Shrimp Boat Captain,

i know its not an apples to apples comparison, but would you say your defensive front is closer to a Georgia/miami or an NC state/USC?

The only team that I've watched this year is Geo out of those four so I really can't give a good answer to that.

I will say that LSU doesn't have a dominant DL but I do consider them to have a top 20 squad with enough of a rotation that they won't get worn out. We are talking about a 3-4 so the DLinemen really aren't expected to rack up stats. That said, they do their job very well.

The difference makers are really the LBs. LSU has two elite OLBs that often play like 4-3 DEs. They also have one of the best ILBs in the nation. Since the secondary has the ability to man up on receivers, those LBs are often very aggressive and are a huge factor at the LOS.

FOOT FRACTURE

Post foot fracture. He hurt his foot earlier in the year, doesn't explain some of the decisions against miami, navy and stanford.

You don't need to defense wimbush to me, i have been one of his biggest fans all year, but just stating facts. I love what he brings to the team, i think he can be a great leader, i enjoy hearing him speak after the game. I think he has a cannon for an arm and throws a very pretty deep ball. I think one of his best games was wake forest, he would have had another 120 yards passing if his receivers could catch the ball. I think he took a beating against georgia and kept fighting. That fumble at the end, i wont put that on him. yeah has to protect the ball, but you should expect your so called all american left tackle to at least get a hand on a guy to give you 2 seconds before you need to look.I am disappointing in all his 6'5" receivers who can help him out.

What i meant by playing worse is his decision making. When he throws, who he throws it to and how he delivers the ball. I had no issue with him up to the end of the season.

Thanks for the welcome. i think that LSU has played pretty well down the stretch and this will be a great game. I think ND has a pretty good coaching staff, but still doing a little juggling. I don't doubt you have the better cook and all that, based off of what ive seen of kelly i would hate to see a dance off between the two as well!

What happened with the Auburn game? i didn't get to watch it.

Auburn was up 20-0 and basically shite the bed. They kept trying to pass instead of balancing it with running. LSU keeps back in because of the Oline and breaking them down.
Malzahn lost that game.

Nov 21, 1970...Drove up to South Bend. Tommy Cassanova remembers that game. Warren Capone remembers that game. Real football. Most here couldn't comprehend a 3-nothing game as a pinnacle of excitement that it was.

Look forward to continuing the rivalry started that day!

Best matchup possible for LSU in a bowl this year.
Should be a good game.
BTW....I still haven’t gotten over the 3-0 game in Southbend!
Two bogus pass interference calls against LSU to keep your FG drive alive!
A great game!!!

I will tell you that our biggest strength is when the coordinators are Allowed to call their game plans.

Our biggest weakness occurs when the HC gets involved with the game plan. I like CEO and the job he has done post Troy.

Hey everyone, stopping back by now that we are getting closer, any major updates, changes, thoughts on the game?

ND will be without, what i think, is there most dangerous receiver. Some say EQ, but only if you let him run by you, he can't get off blocks. Chase Claypool is out with a shoulder injury.

Been there and experienced that for years at LSU.

How does ND do with Jet Sweeps?

Going to get a whole lotta that

Defensively our weakness earlier in the year was runnin it right at us. Depth and injuries absolutely decimated us, im not saying I wouldnt still try my hand at that but the issue has seemed to been resolved.

I think LSU is better than ND. They did not have a better season, but their two embarrassing losses were early when only two of our five big defensive linemen were available. Once the Dline got back to health (and back from suspension) LSU did very well.

However, the wild card no one can predict is how motivated will each team be for a sleepy bowl game with little on the line. Ultimately this is what will decide the game, and your guess is as good as mine.

Justice you are full of BS and I'll wager a Coach O hater. The only reason Bama was deep in our territory when the game ended was because we went for it on 4th and 20 deep in our own territory. You're a buffoon
