Imagine how those stats would look if LSU was in the Big 12 the last 20 years

I can't believe that we lost a combined 26 games to UT and Sewanee.

Can't believe we let that one against Haskell Indian Nations get away from us.

I'm packing it up. Zero wins combined against Maryland, Rutgers, Army, and Santa Clara.
And 7-12 against Georgia tech?

I did a comparison with Tennessee and UGA which are LSU’s closest peers in the SEC. Oddly, both UT and UGA were credited with apparently bogus national championships (UGA had one and UT had 4) but it only lists “claimed NCs”, which could include anything, I guess.

LSU was ahead of UGA in most categories as expected.

Tennessee was interesting. When you include head-to-head as a category, they were tied at 6 categories a piece (if you accept the 6 poll era NCs for TN vs 4 for LSU). If the stats are up to date, LSU passed them in 3 categories after the 2019 season and is poised to pull even with them in 2 more pass them in one very soon. This would give TN the lead in
only 4 categores while LSU would lead in 7.

Poll era championships are pretty cut-and-dried either the AP/coaches poll had you #1 in their final poll or they didn’t. Either you won the BCS/CFP playoff or you didn’t. Tennessee won 2 legitimate poll era championships and LSU won 4.

You are watching one program eclipse another in real-time. Before 2019 it was close, but UT had the better argument for #2 in the SEC all-time. After 2019, LSU has the better argument and the lead will likely be widened in the next 5 years.

Centenary 3-1-1

Many years ago I met a old fellow who played on the 1932 Centenary team who beat LSU. In addition to beating LSU, they beat Texas, Ole Miss, SMU and aTm.

Speaking of bogus national championships, check some claimed by Bama.

You guys have never beaten The Rutger Was that game played in 1879? The Rutger did beat Michigan in 2014. Lol.
