First, I went to the game and this is the first time that I feel comfortable criticizing Will's X's and O's. Our game-plan was obviously to take a lot of 3's, but by the middle of the second half it was painfully obvious to everyone in the PMAC that our shots were not falling, but we were hitting from the free-throw line, so why not drive to the basket and get to the line. Conversely, their 3 point shooting was very good (only reason they were even in the game), so we should have been contesting every outside look, and if they want to take it inside, their free-throw shooting was terrible.

Second, the student section, if you even want to call it that, was non-existent. It is embarrassing how little the students support the BB program. If that doesn't change soon, then sell those seats to anyone that wants them.

Wade definitely can be stubborn with his game plans, but we got the W so maybe there’s a method to his madness.

ETA:

LSU needs to do something to get students there. Maybe give more points towards better football tickets or something.

They were not quick enough to guard the perimeter. This has been an issue all season and will not get better until we get more length. Let’s face it, Waters is a great on ball defender but his height is a disadvantage against bigger guards as they will shoot over him.

As far as driving, they didn’t a bunch because Missouri played some zone as I recall.

fricking embarrassing considering the team's now sent the crowd home happy four times in a row and students really can't show up for a 1pm tip on a Saturday???

I’m not sure there is a solution to fix the student section problem besides winning. Until the basketball team wins at a consistent level, there will be small crowds in that section because most college kids think they have something better to do.

We're a football school. Always have been. Always will be. Get over it.

This is so fricking ignorant.

1. Football's been over for a month and a half, and haven't played a home game since November.
2. Baseball and gymnastics have both sold out games so far in 2018, something I don't think football did at all in 2017
3. "Always have been. Always will be." Yeah ok buddy, how were the football vs. basketball crowds in the early nineties?

I'm sorry, tell me the part where you get 2 free throws just for driving to the hoop?

I think it's more than fair to question coaching decision if done with reason and your comments are reasonable without question.

Hell, I still have issues with some CWS moves Skip made back in the day, and he's arguably the best college baseball manager ever.

It's o.k., I think WW needs to work on inbound plays or at least get his team to execute them better but I am very happy with him and think the future is very bright. Just won't ever agree with everything he does. It's o.k. it's part of what this board is all about...discussion of LSU sports...not agreement on LSU sports. That would be Bob Broadhead's magazine he started to try to run Tiger Rag out of business.

Not true, I was there in early to mid 1990's, the PMAC and the student section in particular used to be awesome.

Well, it is pretty simple, when you take the ball inside, you typically are either going to get fouled or get a high percentage shot.

i'm confused by this. inbound plays have not been a problem that i can recall at all this season. very few turnovers or timeouts. that's one thing the tigers have consistently done well all season as well as handling extended pressure. they are well coached.

also, there have been almost no players fouling out this season. that is amazing.

I was a kid who went to every home game from about 1976 through 1986, and I was in college during the Shaq years. The student section was always packed and engaged. But the team also won most of those years, and there were less distractions (other things to do) back then. I can see both sides, but there’s no excuse for the student section to be as poorly attended as it is these days.

Move the student section if they don't want to attend.

Even during non conf schedule or between semesters there is no reason the students should not be able to attend those games.

Hopefully the class coming in will solve the student issues and they will show up.

Most students don't want to sit in that section with those geeks and sit up top. There's more student there than it looks.
