Most fun game of the year back in the day. Like it or not there are alot of families I know have family that went to both schools. The city was rockin. Now that we're big shots we don't need them. Bring on juggernauts like Furman. Get fn real penis envy losers.

No doubt. The Tulane-LSU series was great from 1970-1987. Tulane posted 4 wins during that period and there were numerous close games.
But in 2015 it's just a scrimmage.

I can at least appreciate playing the other state schools to enhance the statewide university system.
With all due respect, but when has LSU ever cared about enhancing the statewide university system? I work in that system, and LSU is doing their best to destroy it.
At least there is a long D-1 history between LSU and Tulane

Actually a long ancient history.
No reason to play Tulane.

Amen brotha. But the problem is it's still Tulane football. I'd rather see us have an inaugural game in their new stadium even though its not that big.

I'm glad to hear this. I would be MUCH more likely to make the drive down from Dallas to New Orleans to see us play Tulane than to drive down to watch us play Furman in Tiger Stadium. At least Tulane is an FBS opponent, and there is some historic rivalry there. Playing FCS schools is an embarassment, and frankly the NCAA ought to prohibit it. A game like this is much better.

I agree with this, but I'd rather not play either one of them.
If we are going to play someone on par with Tulane, I'd rather pick Rice, Wake Forest, or SMU or a team like those.

So which is it?
In the system or Waveprof?

I used to teach at Tulane (and did when I started going by that moniker on sports forums). Now I teach in the UL system. My wife (an LSU alum, and former LSU diehard) teaches at Tulane. We are both Tulane fans.

Over the yrs, tulane has used LSU money to keep its athletic programs afloat. Which is all well & good till you factor in that the weenies have always turned around & shite all over Tiger fans wanting to watch a particular game. A friend is a college football ref & he told me that in the weenies' last game in TS, their HC walked down to the back of the endzone where the refs were having a pre game huddle. He started waving his arms in the air, circular wise, indicating that he wanted them to keep the clock rolling, i.e. he wanted to get the game over with as fast as possible. My friend has called games for over 25 yrs & said he's never had a HC do that before. So..why play them if the HC wants nothing to do with LSU on the playing field?

Your wife is an LSU alum and now likes Tulane more. I'm speechless..that is unless she is from NOLA and that explains her misguided feelings towards the green wave

I highly doubt that story.

Your signature text..I'm guessing 1982 LSU vs Tulane game in Tiger Stadium. My dad says it was one of the best games he has seen in Tiger Stadium except the fact that LSU lost. Were you there?

If true, then it was 2008, the middle of the Bob Toledo era. Tulane has a new coach, new attitude, and has made huge strides in recruiting.

I'd love for this rivalry to get going and a night game in the dome could be a lot of fun. I think Johnson has Tulane heading in the right direction so hopefully they're somewhat relevant by then

Um, please elaborate.

The same coach that in an interview the morning of the game said his players couldn't hope to "hang" with LSU (what kind of a coach says that about any opponent?!?!?), and then watched his players take a 9-7 lead with seconds to go in the first half.
Tulane may fix its problems or it may not. But pointing to the actions of Bob Toledo to make your case isn't very relevant.

She is from NOLA, but was hard corps into LSU while a student. Camped out all day to get front row of the student section, traveled to away games, etc. She stayed die hard in graduate school. But a combination of teaching Tulane athletes, not liking the way LSU fans act (especially the bandwagon jumpers), not liking Les Miles, and not liking the way that LSU has tried to push around the rest of the state schools soured things for her in a big way. She is now one of the biggest Tulane fans I know.
And, honestly, I don't mean any of that nastily. Just trying to answer your question honestly.
If you had told me when I met her that I'd ever see her wear Tulane gear into both Tiger stadium and the LSU women's basketball arena I would have been shocked. But I've seen both with my own eyes.

Only a woman could do this.
Is "hard corps" the same as hardcore?

Good catch. I went to military college and that always makes me think of the word corps. Oh well. I'll somehow survive the humiliation
