Ausberry said LSU is also pursuing a major BCS conference opponent to play in Tiger Stadium on Sept. 12, 2015. The Tigers are scheduled to play Arizona State at home in that game slot, Sept. 12, and then in Tempe in 2016, but Ausberry said he doesn't want to play Arizona State and Wisconsin in 2016. So, LSU is pushing back the Arizona State home-and-home to later years and bringing in another 2015 foe.

Would be awesome. With the new Playoff, you almost have to have at least one marquee OOC game on your resume.

Playing Tulane makes no sense at all. It's a lose/lose for LSU.

I can at least appreciate playing the other state schools to enhance the statewide university system.

Tuck Fulane.

How is it a lose/lose? If LSU is going to play 2 or 3 crap games every year, whats wrong with one of them being Tulane every now and again.

As far as the other schools in the statewide system go, LSU could give a rat's read end about the other state schools. Every student that goes to a UL system school is a student not going to LSU. They are the enemy, not to be enhanced in any way. I'd rather play Tulane, at least there is history there.

I was kinda excited about playing Arizona state, but if they wanted to add, say a Texas team, I would also... WAIT! Did he just say a BCS conference team, or a good quality team? If its just a BCS TEAM, in ok with Texas. If he wants quality... Well never mind.

I think it's a damn shame they don't play every year.
I'd rather play Tulane, U.S.L. and La.Tech every year than this god awful collection of out of state sisters of the poor bottom feeders. (Towson, Idaho, Saban (Kent)State, Furman, UAB)

Hey Joe, lets move some more of our "Watchable" OOC games in Tiger Stadium to Dallas/
Houston.

Of all the great things Skip Bertman did as AD, and there are too many to name, that contract he signed with Tulane was probably his worst moment.

I'd rather see them play in Tulane's new stadium.

It would be awesome to tailgate in Uptown NOLA for a LSU game, but it will never happen. Tulane's new stadium will only hold 30,000.

Because there is a chance we could lose a game to them.

I'm not talking about LSU's perspective. I am talking about it from a statewide university perspective that it is good for the whole system.

That's exactly what I said.
You are either simply being contrary for the sake of it, or you are dense.

Serious as a heart attack. It's the two most recognizable schools in the two largest cities in Louisiana and there's a ton of history between the teams. It would be better than playing teams like Towson or Kent St every year.

Would love this to be at the new on-campus stadium rather than the Dome. Sure, it would be full of LSU fans but so would the Dome. Tailgating in uptown would be like a Mardi gras parade

LSU doesn't want whats good for the UL System. It wants the UL system to wither away as an insignificant home of little schools. It wants the best students who are currently going to UL schools to go instead to Baton Rouge.

There is a reason why 4 year public universities sprung up in smaller towns such as Lake Charles, Lafayette, Thibodaux, Hammond, Monroe, and Natchitoches before the state found a need to open universities in New Orleans and Shreveport. LSU wanted the kids from the large cities to go to LSU.

There are only so many people to go around in this state. Helping the other public universities in Louisiana is counter productive to what LSU wants to accomplish. That is why UL System formed in the first place, because LSU was so belligerent to the other schools.

I am probably in the minority here, but I loved this game in the dome every other year. Fun time to go down to N.O. and watch the game then go on Bourbon afterwards.

Edit: Probabably helps in recruiting those N.O. kids as well.

I think we are on the same page.

I'm just looking at it from the perspective of the university system and why they would want the game. Not saying it is good for LSU.
