I have now read this entire thread.
The most salient (and alarming ) point i come away with is that Metaloctopus is likely registered to vote in this state..
That Jeff Landry is now Governor of this same state is not coincidence.

Just fyi, it’s completely ignorant to lump everyone you disagree with into one category.

I, for one, voted for Trump. Love his policies. Sick and tired of the woke movement and the MSM takeover… however, I’m extremely apathetic about this whole ‘tiger in the stadium’ drama and don’t care what happens either way. And I’m sure there are thousands just like me who feel the same way

So take your ignorant comment about the ‘far right’ (whatever that is, probably some fantasy land BS you got from cnn or Twitter) and shove it up your arse

We were talking about a dog's feelings as compared to a tiger's. People were arguing that animals do have feelings. I agree. And I think the capacity for feelings and emotions is similar in dogs and tigers. Nothing you have posted disputes that.

I am disputing that dogs and tigers are different in terms of their capacity for feelings and emotions. HA! Gotcha! Now I have posted something that disputes that.

Kidding aside, I'm glad that you are considering that animals have the capacity for feelings and emotions. Not everyone here is arguing that, and I think it's odd given the vast amount of information we know now about animals.

LSU has been doing it for decades. Can you prove that it will affect their well being? The only expert commentary I've seen related to the LSU situation was about Mike specifically. The expert also said another tiger might be ok. Of course I'm paraphrasing, and obviously I'm not as smart as you, but that was my understanding of the situation.

I cannot prove anything about this situation, and neither can you. But I can also say that given two choices, it's reasonable at least to infer that option A (not bringing the tiger into the stadium) is at least somewhat better than option B (bringing the tiger into the stadium). You don't have to agree with it, but do you at least agree it's a reasonable inference?

Wow, okay big guy. I have made all of my arguments without insulting you or anyone else. Read what I wrote and write back to me the insults I posted. Perhaps you should stop taking this so personally.

I’m making a prediction right here. Bookmark it and revisit this Monday

IF LSU drops this game for whatever reason, you can bet your arse that we will see multiple, ignorant threads saying shite like ‘oh man well if lsu wasn’t so worried about a tiger in the stadium……. Blah blah blah’

You know it’s coming.

Well Doc, that was a weak deflective answer. You went on and on about the science behind Tigers feelings in captivity, so I pointed out the hypocrisy of being ok with Mike being in a bigger enclosure with thousands of people surrounding him, turning their backs on him to get him to pounce, and all the noise they create during gamedays and generally on campus, but being a virtue signaler about a 30 minute ride in a cage.

My immediate opinion is that this is a stupid, selfish stunt by the Governor and gives me the feeling that he thinks he is the second coming of Huey P Long. I would also like to keep the tradition and take care of Mike in the best ways possible. I honestly think we should be expanding his habitat every few years. We spend millions upon millions to expand football, basketball, and baseball Ops. Let's make his habitat as big as possible and get creative with how we set up viewing lanes without allowing people to taunt and coax him into behaviors that could hurt or bother him. LSU should be a leader among universities in supporting the preservation of wild Tigers. It kind of surprises me that LSU doesn't really use Mikes platform as a way to tie our tradition to funding for preservation through the many ways it could. I think that things like that would foster more cooperation with the preservation and activists groups.

The flat out fact of the matter is captive Tigers may be our only way to witness these magnificent beasts one day at the rate the East is going.

Wait he doesn’t care about lsu traditions because he wants lsu to have a live tiger on the field? I grew up section 100.
Politics aside, read any opposing players memories of tiger stadium and they all talk about coming out of the tunnel and seeing a live tiger.

No, I was not talking about Tigers feelings in captivity. I was really just talking about the argument being made that tigers (and animals in general) are not capable of emotions and feelings. I wasn't making a distinction between animals in or out of captivity.

You and I are really in agreement on literally everything else you said. I have zero issue with a tiger (or any animal) being kept in captivity as long as it is being cared for and treated appropriately. Not everyone seems to agree with this, and it's disappointing to me. The reason that Mike has the habitat he has today is because of everything you pointed out. Mike's life expectancy is significantly improved due to his living situation.

This tiger in tiger stadium is absolutely moronic. I hope this puts Jeff Landry in a much worse position when re election comes around. fricking idiot to push this.

Here's just a few of your insulting, condescending posts from this thread. But I'm sure there's more. I actually agree with one or two of the points you've made but overall you just come off as very arrogant and unlikeable.

I'm glad they are bringing the live tiger tradition back. Hopefully they continue to do it. If that makes me unintelligent then so be it.

So, in order -

- I feel like the arguments I've encountered on this thread are fairly weak but stubborn, much like a two-year-old. I didn't call anyone a 2-year-old. And calling someone a 2-year-old would hardly be considered insulting rather than just bad commentary. Unless you are a 2-year-old, and in that case I'd find it remarkable the level of discourse you can engage in.
- This second one is probably the closest to an insult, but again I am referring to what people are posting. Look at what is posted in this thread alone - tons of factual inaccuracies and logical fallacies are in tons of these posts (including mine, I'm sure). So my "insult" was to point out that people will argue on behalf of just about anything without actually understanding anything about the topic at all.
- Same as before, but I guess you could argue that I am pointing out that people's cognitive abilities (read: their ability to learn and reason) aren't being put in the best light.
- I said this one in jest and only because you are the only one really getting upset about these "insults."

Bottom line, if I wanted to be insulting I wouldn't even engage in the argument, I'd just shut it down and call people stupid and not lay out my own argument along with it.

Not being liked by you, or being seen as arrogant by you...well those are just the consequences I'll have to learn to live with.

But here we are....not talking about the point of the thread, just talking about how mean I am. I guess the argument was just no longer worth making so you had to shift to another lane in an effort to make some headway.

I'll get it out of the way right now. IF LSU drops this game, it will be because the football gods are punishing us for allowing this farce to occur.

In April, the USDA cited Kalmanson for holding tigers in filthy trailers that were infested with maggots, not even letting them out for exercise. Big cats have died as a result of Kalmanson’s neglect, including a lion cub who died of metabolic bone disease caused by an inadequate diet.

Remember when we use to talk about the game on Bama week?

Now it’s 500,000 posts about a Tiger.
