And as far as the 6 home games in 2011 and Tulane, I think they are working hard behind the scenes to make the Tulane series "go away".
Div 1A college football needs to step up and make Tulane "go away."
I like the WVU move.
Great job, Joe. Hope to see more like it in the future.
To you clowns worried about #s of home games. A legit home-and-home beats an all cupcake OOC schedule any day. If you don't think otherwise, you're plumb ignorant. I have a hard time counting some of those cupcakes as actual games.

I'm very interested in attending the game at WVU
I did a little research and found there is mountain near there called "Dorsey Knob"
kinda made me chuckle...thought I'd share.
Go see Dorsey Knob

Also I'm getting the boat for UW, I'll fill you in on the details once those arrive.

They would have if it wasn't for the home and home deal we gave them post-Katrina. It kept their home attendance figures up and gave them the cash they needed to keep going as a D1 program.

I like the scheduling of WVU. I hope we can schedule more quality OOC opponents even if it means one less home game.
You can fly directly into Morgantown but going into Pittsburgh is better. The trip from the airport to Morgantown in about an hour.

LSU to play home and home with WVU for 2010

I'm dumbfounded. Why would LSU take it's already slim national title hopes and halve them once more?
Stupid, stupid move. LSU sells all their home games out regardless, and with our outrageously tough SEC schedule (plus SEC Championship game) this makes absolutely zero sense.
I would never play tough OOC games until there was a playoff system and you could realistically hope to get in with 2 or even 3 losses.
Dumb, dumb move.

The only reason we won in 2007 was because we played Va Tech.
If they play some shitty school it would have been OSU/Va. Tech BCSCG.

No, the only reason we won in 2007 is because of a 1 in a million sequence of events.
If we had skipped the VT game and simply beaten Arkansas or Kentucky we'd have been in easily.

We should have just avoided losing to Arkansas instead.
I'm sure we intended that to happen
Fact of the matter was the OoC win over a BCS Conference champion put us over the top to play OSU.
Again Bill Stewart will run them into the ground by then.

Yeah we fricked up and lost two games and because we had a huge OoC win it was enough to get us back into the BCSCG.

Again I'm sure Les didn't try to win those games.

My point is that yes, that ONE TIME the tough OOC helped put us over the top. But the other 9 times out of 10 it would work the other way around.
But buried in your little "victory" there is the inherent trickiness of the SEC - we beat Florida and Alabama yet lost to Kentucky and Arkansas?
The SEC is a minefield - especially considering that last gauntlet in Atlanta that you need to get through.
The degree of difficulty is already astronomical given the slim margin of error (1 loss if you're lucky, 2 will never happen again), so adding a quality OOC opponent is ridiculously irresponsible and stupid.
What does LSU gain from this relationship with WVU? Nothing but a lowering of our National Title hopes.
Again, if we had a playoff system I'd be all for this. But not under the current setup.

Drunkfest won't even begin to describe the pregame atmosphere.

The interesting thing about playing VT in 07 was this. If VT doesn't play us THEY are in the game instead of us.
If VT just would have played Youngstown, instead of LSU, like tOSU they would have been in the game.
