I've known the family for years & they are LSU to the core. They have pretty well completely converted their original camera business into a LSU clothing & gift shop regularly advertising on local TV. If there's anything he's said critical of the program or coaching, I've not seen or heard it. I find it a bit unlikely that if true he would be granted an interview, CLM is not a stupid man regardless of some fan opinion. Whether Rob is a good fit or not, I have no idea but the fact he gets a look is telling of what the staff thinks. I've not kept up with him since he graduated but I'd hazard a guess his success coaching shows a degree of success to merit the interview. On the recruitment thing, he most definitely be lights out in North La.

I have not read the replies yet, however he WILL NOT be our next oline coach. This is more of a courtesy thing.

Probably so that he'll stop pointing kids in Bama's direction when he's out on the recruiting trail for McNeese.

And don't be naive enough to think these things don't happen. There's a McNeese coach in Orgeron's pocket too that will help him wherever he lands.

i worked with rob before he became a coach. he left the postion to go to point coupee catholic in new roads to coach with neil weiner. then he left when he had the chance to go to alabama as weight room asst. and film break down. then he went to mcneese.

who wouldnt want to learn the game offootball from the best coach? im not saying he is the guy for LSU today but he would make a great coach here one day. good luck to him what ever happens at the LSU interview.

Chris Truax is no longer at SFA. Coach and entire staff let go.
But talk about family bleeding P&G - Dad (Billy, ex Ram, Cowboy) still loving the Tigers.

I met both Rob and his dad on the practice field one afternoon at LSU when G.D. was coach...they both seemed like great LSU fans and representatives...he was just a recruit then but I felt like he would be a winner...and he has certainly been that...smart and a good attitude...would love to have him rep. LSU in any capacity!

Recuting is importment, but what about coaching? Lsu has not had a good offense line in some time. Our qb's have to run for their lifes for some time. Who ever they get I hope he can coach!

would be a solid hire...he did really well with McNeese's O-line and the gravy part is his connection in the Monroe area

We should be able to get a proven offensive line coach St the D1 or NFL level who can recruit kids from North Louisiana. His resume is pretty light.

Sale is a pretty proven o-line coach. He has had a very decorated group on his o-line the last couple of years including many all-slc lineman the last two seasons. He seems to get the most out of his guys. I think a couple where invited to the combine and one this season will play in the nfl. Recruiting does seem to be a strong point for him. He recruited my son in 2013(decided not to play college ball)and is a great guy. That season he signed 2 players, I think 3 star level, from Florida a real rare accomplishment for McNeese State.

don't know enough to criticize him or compliment him.

He seems to have in-state connections which is usually a good thing.
