This is a massive opportunity for him

I don't care one bit what kind of opportunity it is for him. I care what he brings to the table at coaching college football defensive line. Recruiting college football defensive line.

And he hasn't done either of those things. This board gets excited for every new shiny thing without bothering to take a step back and think about it objectively.

Remember when everybody was super excited about Robert Steeples, who also had no college coaching experience and had been plucked out of the high school ranks? He was fired because he ended up sucking.

Lsu shouldn't be hiring anyone at any position if they are going to be learning on the job.

This has nothing to do with my post or the person I was responding to

Tell me you know nothing of Kevin’s path after the NFL……

SMH

I might cite stops at ASU and the Titans as just two examples.

Someone (you) apparently has beef with Kev.

People were calling for mawae well before those stops

If he wanted the job now he’d absolutely deserve a look

He was a Rb coach, how was he arse?

Not saying he was good but the RB room and team in general was arse at that point.

Probably about the same amount that would have told Saban no in his prime.

Stop being stupid just to try and take a damn jab at BK.

You dipshits act like BK has had nothing but losing seasons. Get a damn grip on reality.

Show me an example how you know what he’s doing at the college level?

We couldn’t get 1 dline coach from the college level? Not 1 coach?

I acknowledge he’s an lsu alumni and great at the dline position professionally. That doesn’t relate to coaching..

Gosh this gives me hope I could become captain of a naval ship since I was in the navy for many years right? Or would I be under-qualified?

Not at all. I in believe in qualifications, experience, on job training.. I could see this working if he was under the wing of a position coach but just to be named dline coach bc he has played the position and went to lsu is wild.

Before he arrived at LSU, Joe Brady had 6 years experience with this only experience being a position coach was the 2 years he coached linebackers at William and Mary. He wasn't even a position coach or coordinator here but after 2019, LSU fans were trying to figure out how to make him the head coach in waiting. Kyle played 13 seasons in the NFL for ONE franchise. Give me a guy that played the game at a high level and values loyalty every time.

Happy about the hire, but if it doesn’t work out, I would not look forward to our fan base turning on one of our most beloved players.

You make way too much sense. Playing and coaching are two entirely different skill sets. And recruiting is a third and separate skill. This hire may work out but...

Does he have any eligibility left in college? If so, suit him up and he'll teach/coach by example. Yes, I kid (sort of)

yep. this board is an echo chamber of the same talking points and anyone who goes against the grain is being negative or rooting against the tigers or hates BK. no room for objectivity in fanaticism apparently.

Love this hire. One thing about Kyle is he knows how to motivate. Kids will run through a brick wall for him.

Guys, He’s going to be a Good position coach. At a position He had a lot of experience and success in. He’s not going to be DC. Yet. If he brings the same work ethic as he did when he was a Pro, then that’s more than half the battle right there.
