I like it. Every team needs a quality TE, especially when you have a young QB.

I see Foster Moreau having a big year for us, hopefully Scheffer is next in line.

They choose to name their All-State selections for the previous season at the end of February? Nothing strange about that...

He has to sign with us first. A lot of these kids don’t honor their commitment. Hopefully he does.

He is part of the 2018 class. He isn't a target. He's a tiger.

Super underrated prospect. Will be a very good TE for us.

Lots of big schools wanted his signature.

Also, this motherfricker looks 35 years old with a few hard years on the oil rig behind him

TE’s are the glue guys on offense. I’d like to see Brennan and Scheffer work out a lot this summer and get some chemistry

I think he looks like Jason Witten in that pic of him running a route so yea 35 sounds just about right

Okay, thanks for clarifying because when I typed in his name on Google it brought it up on 247 like he was headed into his senior year and was still a junior. Needless to say that is a bizarre way to pass out All State honors this late after football season.

He does. I really like this kid. I just hope we utilize the TE more. Last season was a little better, but with a 1st time starter at QB the TE has got to be his safety valve.

Until we really throw to the TE, I will not buy into a TE recruit

We could have gotten Witten, Gronk, you name it these last 10 years and they would have been nothing but blockers

Jimmy Graham wouldnt have even seen the field for us

You strategically use 10 years?

Because Dickson had a solid year in 2007. Honestly, I really do think we'll open it up a bunch this year. No super star RB, uber-talented WR core, and a coach that consistently praises Brennan's arm talent.

ETA:

He had a good year in 2008 too, we just sucked so I forgot about it.

Crowton gets hated on, but our passing game was monumentally successful in 2007 and 2008 compared to recent

Over 200 yards a game and 2 tds a game passing those years on average

ETA:Also, 2007 feels like a century ago at this point

ETA2: Dickson only averaged 26 yards a game in 2007. So the fact that is the "good year" you highlighted for an LSU tight end furthers my point

Yeah, but he was used strategically in big points of games, including national title game. 5 TD's and over 10 ypc is solid stuff for an NCAA tight end IMO.

Well that's roughly 2 receptions a game and over 10% of receiving yards for one player. I don't know what the other tight ends on the roster that year compiled. But a couple grabs a game for a tight end is enough to say they are at least involved.
