If this means I wont have to hear the band play another hit from the 1960s or from some old as hell Broadway play during Halftime in Tiger Stadium then I am fine.

I, for one, think TGBFTL is integral to LSU football and is an iconic ambassador for the Tigers.

I also think there is some stupid BS in all of this that literally threatens not only a great institution but has the potential to provide emabrassment to LSU and LSU football on a grand scale (imagine games at Tiger Stadium without Tiger Band, Color Guard, and GOLDEN GIRLS or, worse, imagine games at Tiger Stadium with a sorely depleted unit operating in a chaotic and sloppy manner. LSU would become a laughing stock of the national media.)

If you feel the same way, you could drop a line to these folks:

Ernie Ballard - LSU Media Director eballa1@lsu.edu
F. King Alexander alexander@lsu.edu;
Todd Queen - Dean of LSU School of Music tqueen@lsu.edu
(that's right folks, this could be a fight btwen a King and a Queen - can't make this stuff up)
Damon Talley - LSU Director of Bands (School of Music) dtalley@lsu.edu
Joe Alleva athletics@lsu.edu
Michael Bonnet - AD Communications mbonnet@lsu.edu
David Taylor - AD Game/Event Mgr dataylor@lsu.edu
David Landry - Dir of Sports Media landryd@lsu.edu

“I hope to God my client isn’t just hanging in the wind like LSU did to its football coach not too long ago,” she said, referring to widespread reports that LSU administrators were planning to fire LSU coach Les Miles.

This seems to be a pattern at LSU:

National Championship coach wins 10* games - LSU says fire the coach.

2013 Band Director of the Year fights for funding - LSU says fire the director.

Basketball coaches fail to reach the post season - LSU says those coaches are doing a great and their jobs are secure.

Make Tiger Band great again. The past few years have been pretty subpar, especially compared to years past

The band hasn't been fun to listen to in a long while.

Apparently it's the CGs and GGs that the School of Music has issue with, since they're not musicians...

Save your Golden Girls!!

Don't e-mail Ernie about this. He has zero ability to do anything. He's not even the top dog in his department, which is completely unrelated to the School of Music.

He's one of the good guys. Trust me.

It's not whether he's a good guy, I'm sure he is. It's whether he has skin in the game.

As Director of Media Relations, Ernie is a spokesperson and handler of LSU public relations - definitely has skin in the game relative to crafting messages and interpreting input from various LSU stakeholders.

All the folks/entities on the list have some sort of skin in the game, whether its athletics, event/promotion management, academic/university administration, or direct links to TGBFTL.

The Sandwich Band from Tigerland barely plays at the games any more. Let's call Roy the "Director of Piped Music" and disband the band altogether. Atmosphere at the former Death Valley has continued to decrease anyways

Dude: can't tell if you're pro or con on this but, if one is happy with the thought of no band, color guard, or Golden Girls, one should just go to an NFL game, no?

It's a sarcastic reply. I hate the piped in music. TGBFTL takes a quarter off though, so piped in music is necessary then. Piped in music is ruining the experience, but more ruining is the P.C. culture that has ruined the student section and takes away from the "pure hate" that used to pour out from it towards the opponent. We have become just another SEC stadium instead of "the most feared SEC stadium." Roy has done an excellent job in the face of growing demand for piped in music. He's an alumni and knows how important the TGBFTL is.

Jet - sandwiches make you weak. The third quarter suffers for it.

The band takes a series off to eat a cold turkey wrap. Give them a god damn break.

Turkey wraps are love. Turkey wraps are life.
