Corey Spurlin earned his PhD at LSU while I was in TB. He's done some amazing things while at Auburn and I would love to see him at LSU.
I don't have an opinion on any of this because im unsure of what the other side to this story is.
By the way, they should've never allowed LRM to get away. Biggest mistake ever.

Bingo. I don't have an opinion on the quality of the band under King, but it speaks to the larger issue of this administration continually sticking their nose where it doesn't belong. If they could, they'd get control of the athletic budget. In a way, they already did by stopping Miles from getting fired because of the money it would have taken to fire him.
Actually, it's Alexander and most of the BOS that needs to be replaced before they do irreparable damage to the university.

Yeah I'm not a fan of King Alexander. Seems like he's managed to screw up a ton in his short tenure. Things were pretty great while I was at LSU. 05-09. I was privileged to be in the GBFTL under Wickes & LRM, won an SECCG, NCG, 2 peach bowls and sugar bowl during my time. And I got to work on the Forever LSU campaign for my student job.

As others have said, this stems from an extensive feud between the band and the school of music. The school of music wants to control the money that is currently controlled by Roy king and the band, and allocate money to the band as they see fit. In other words, they want to use the bands money for the school of music.
For obvious reasons, Roy has fought them tooth and nail, and this is the end result.

Nothing new here. This kind of stuff has been going on in one way or the other since Thomas Tyra, Bill Swor, Nick Rouse,Frank Wickes/Linda Morehouse and now Roy. Fleas that come with the dog when you deal with all the egos involved and those who eat out of the public trough. They should have found a way to keep her. I am biased on this because I've known her since 1980 going all the way back to high school.
